I'm At A Loss For Words

That doesn't happen often.  I can talk the ear off a donkey!  Luckily, I skimmed by Friday the 13th without too much damage.  I spent much of the day sewing, trying to finish up a few projects before I start heading off into the wild blue yonder.
I know that copper and turquoise don't go with this wall hanging.  Let's face it ... I've got somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 yards of backing fabric, all purchased at rock bottom prices.  The problem I've discovered is NONE of it matches the quilts I've been making.  I'm at a loss for words.  How could that be?
Unfortunately, I don't have enough of anything to back this monster.  I have no idea WHY I thought I should buy this one.  I guess my taste in quilts has evolved over the last eight years.
As a reward for getting all that sewing done and a celebration that the cursed Halloween quilt is almost complete, I decided to try for some pecan salted caramel sauce for the cheesecake I planned to bake.  If the sauce bombed, there would be no reason to bake the cake.

For the first time ever, I didn't burn it.  Oh MY!  I tasted that first bit on the spoon and I was totally at a loss for words!  WOW!  By the time I finished tasting it, I had eaten an entire HUGE spoonful!!  I just could't stop myself.  Me, who is trying to be on a sugar free diet, completely blew it!
So I made the cheesecake ... in my instant pot of course ... because I can only make a small 6" one.  That's my safety rope ... I only get six very small pieces.  But of course I slathered it in salted caramel sauce!!!  This is before I completely smothered it with ANOTHER spoonful!
That's when I noticed just how dirty and greasy my stovetop was.  Time for a cleaning.  I grabbed the all-purpose kitchen spray and paper towels.  I sprayed liberally.  In no time, little tendrils of lavendar scent came wafting up to my nose.  Oooooh, that smells nice.  .......Wait ........

That's when it hit me.  My cleaner smells slightly of ammonia.  I just cleaned my entire stovetop with FABREEZE.   I just stood there and looked at the bottle with not a word escaping my lips.  Sometimes I wonder about you Nancy!!

The weather has turned chilly ... we are down to the 30's this morning.  I'm going to go sit on the couch and snuggle up with the puppies till we all get warm, before hauling stuff out to the rig.  The days are flying by and I need to get packing for that RV Rally.

  1. Cleaning your stove top with Fabreeze, that's a good one, remains me of not to long ago, I poured shampoo on my pouf instead of shower gel to have my shower. It's a good to thing we can laugh at our selves.

I can't help with the quilt backing but you'll figure something out. In the fabric store/vendor at the AZ market it screams N A N C Y! as I thought of you.
That sauce sounds wonderful but perhaps something we should avoid!!
The cheesecake is good for you, reminds me that I need to make some. :)
