I Scream For Ice Cream!!

After double and even triple checking the rig yesterday, I headed on off to the Magic Kingdom for another adventure in the land of Kings and Peasants.  Prince Charming was in attendance, along with three other Knights of the Round Table, having a party at the little round table in the highest parapet of the castle.

The Knight who fought a great battle with the neighboring King's army was still limping from the gash he received on his knee.  In fact, I'm pretty sure that leg is now a couple inches shorter.  That didn't keep him from enjoying the long tall bottle.

I kept to my Coca Cola, looking for a sugar high to keep me going throughout the night while the Castle Lawyer attended a kids Christmas play.  Oh the fun!!
Peasant attendance increased, as did the jackpots.  One of my jobs is to keep running the abacus to be sure we are paying out the maximum.  Why you might ask?  Because every dollar the peasants win, goes right back into the OTHER Castle pot in the way of pull tabs.

They buy them like they cost a penny each (they cost $1), because in an entire box of 500, there is one ticket where they might win $500.  THAT is the money that keeps the Castle donating to all the various charities in our Kingdom because that's what we do.

There was only one incident ... okay, two.  One peasant wanted to pay for her cards, but pick them out later.  That's not allowed.  Who wants to keep track of all those who have paid but not received their spoils?  I'm telling you, there is always ONE.  I said NO.  She complained loudly for a full twenty minutes.  The answer was still NO.

The second one was a complaint that she who makes the food is always cranky with Hispanic individuals.  Believe me, she is always cranky with EVERYONE!!  He finally gave up his quest to have her replaced because HE didn't want to do the cooking over the hot fire.  Give us a break ... we are VOLUNTEERS.

And THEN I remembered.  Our Elks Lodge attends several charity events, most of which have auctions.  Lucky for us Bingo volunteers, the King always bids on and wins items that benefit all of us.  THIS time it was a quart of ice cream every month for one year from my all time favorite ... BASKIN ROBBINS.  What a great guy!!  He knoweth how to make that sweet concoction.

Rocky Road and Butter Pecan don't go together at all, but no one cared.  We screamed with joy as we ate our fill.  In case you didn't know, I'm addicted to ice cream!!!  I could eat it every day.

And so the night ended, although the infernal machine ate one dollar bill and I was off in my calculations.

Here's the latest forecast.  It's been raining most of the night, and as you can see, I'm about to get hit big time.  This is expected to continue until 5 pm.  Luckily, I think I have staunched the flow of water into the motorhome.
In speaking to one of the Knights whose friend also has a Phaeton, it's the seals on the slide.  They should stay pointed to the outside instead of folding under to the inside.  That is what's allowing water to enter.  I fixed them for now, and the water has stopped.  Today I'll try to find a permanent fix.

In the meantime, my tiny little space heater has dried the carpets and everything is back to normal, or at least as normal as it gets with three or four inches of rain puddles around my house.  If you don't hear from me tomorrow, it's because I floated away.

  1. Good to know what causes the leaking. I've watched those seals and wondered too whether they are ending up in the right position.
Another yummy ice cream day. No matter what two kinds you have. Yummy!

  3. Glad you found your leak. Not something you want to ignore very long because it can lead to serious structural problems.
Happy the Magic Kingdom went well.
Be Safe and Enjoy your Ice Cream.

    It's about time.

    1. Exactly. As of now, water on the carpet is not a big deal, but anything else WOULD be!

  5. Almost sounds like a quiet evening in the Kingdom...:) You just have to love people who argue about doing something longer then it would take to do it. Of course, I do know that the picking of the cards can be a drawn out process.(right numbers in right place etc...lol)
Pretty much any ice cream sounds delicious...yum

    1. Oh you must have played Bingo. You are exactly right. The correct numbers must be in the right spot or they won't take that pack.

  6. Grip tape. Our seals were not unfurling as they were supposed to. We'd have to get a ladder and stick our fingers behind the seal and help it along to its correct orientation. Grip tape has an abrasive surface that pulls the slide seals into the correct position. If you do have it installed, NEVER let someone run a wax buffer over the tape, the tape does not like that.

    1. I've never heard of that Allison! Yup .. that's exactly what I did, stuck my fingers behind to get it unfurled. Exactly where do you put the tape? Along the top of the slide? Down the far outside edge? Maybe I can google it.
