Do I HAVE to get up? That little thought ran through my brain ten times before I finally answered. Yes ... yes you do. I was late for my nap. I remember back in the day I could be up until 3 am and be up at 6, raring to go. Well maybe not raring ... but at least I could wake up and get my clothes put on the right direction. The day was tough for BOTH of us.
Now I'm going to cry. I set up the critter cam just for fun, to see what Mr. Cooper did while I was gone. There were 107 ... yes 107 videos of him getting up on the back of the couch and looking out the window. 107 times he walked the back of the couch looking for his Mom. That's about once every 5 MINUTES the entire time I was gone. I feel terrible ... I'm a BAD MOM!
He crawled up beside me on the couch and that's where he stayed most of the day. He was exhausted! We made it outside a couple of times, and the clouds threatened us at every corner.
There was more sleeping, which kept me on the couch most of the time. I did have one thing to accomplish however. I needed to get my name OFF the Golden Spike checking account and get the next victim's ... I mean treasurer's name ON. That turned into a lesson in WHY OH WHY.
I called Bank of America six times. They never answered their phone. The only alternative was to make an appointment online to meet someone at the bank. That's one of the many reasons I am NOT a B of A client.
The appointment was for 3:00. This is what I found when I got there. ONE person in the account section and ONE person behind the bullet proof glass, along with seven people waiting in line. That was it ... in the entire building. This is the tiniest town with the biggest bank I've ever seen in my entire life ... and NO people inside.
After standing there for 15 minutes with the line not moving at all because the teller refused to give the guy money from his account, someone finally came out of the back. I made a beeline for her. Ummm my appointment was for 3:00, it's 3:15 and there's no indication ANYWHERE of where to go or who to see.
The outcome? She said I had to go online to order signature cards, which would be mailed to my house in 14-30 days. After I mailed one of those cards to the other new signer, they had to go to THEIR B of A and get it notarized, before mailing it back to me, whereupon I would go to MY bank with three types of I.D. and sign mine. Another 30 days and the account would reflect the name changes. It's ridiculous. The only other way is for both of us to make an appointment and go to the same bank together, which isn't going to happen since they live far away. This is ridiculous!
Back home, I snuggled with my kid while he slept literally the entire day. I contemplated house cleaning, or at least washing the dirty dishes, but that was scheduled for 4:00, and alas, the time change made it 5:00 and I missed it altogether. So sad!
Clyde on the other hand ... surprisingly, came awake and wandered around the house. His battery died once again when he got stuck under the same chair he's gotten stuck under for the last 10 times he's run. It's the exact same spot every time. I thought they were supposed to LEARN that stuff.
Suddenly, I heard it. Cats and dogs were falling on the roof. Yikes!! HERDS of cats and dogs. The rains finally arrived in full force. That took care of our evening walk that we never do anyway, so I headed for the sewing room to put borders on this quilt. That makes two ready to quilt.
By the way, did I mention I spoke to the Veterans Chairman, who said he needed between 15 and 30 quilts by October to give away at their dinner? It's a good thing these are fairly quick and easy to make, that is if I would quit sewing the pieces on upside down and backwards.
More cats and dogs ensued ALL NIGHT LONG as Mr. Cooper and I snuggled some more. He literally slept all day long, exhausted after that epic night of pacing because his Mom was gone. I feel AWFUL!! I don't know what I can do, because Tuesdays are always late nights. From now on, I'm NOT going in early. They can deal with stuff by themselves.
Very early THIS morning, like about 2:00 am, the cats and dogs reappeared for the duration of the night. Good grief ... the noise is crazy loud.
And so I envision more COUCH time today ... before yet another night meeting ... but this time it will be a short one. I think the rest of the year is going to be a bad one for me ... I'm going to be sick A LOT when it comes to Bingo ... that is if my stand-in gets well. She was going to be trained last week, but she called in SICK!!
Poor Cooper bet he was very exhausted. That's a long night for you too.
ReplyDeleteRaining like crazy here too.
Love your quilt I think I love all the quilts you show on your blog.

Happy Thursday!
