Sweet Dreams ........ Or Not!!!

You would think that a beautiful new bed would bring sweet dreams, but that isn't always the case with me.  Ever since I was a little five year old kid, I've had nightmares ... night terrors I guess they call them.  I've no idea where they came from or why I'm the lucky recipient, but getting dark outside always puts me on edge.

Snakes were the name of the game early on ... millions of them, slithering all over my bed with me in it.  Weird, right?  What the heck were they feeding me that caused THAT??  As I got older, it switched from snakes to bears ... yup, BIG grizzlies, chasing me.  In the house, up trees, EVERYWHERE, they followed.  No matter how many doors there were, I never could close them, although I never got eaten, or even chomped on.  I would finally tell myself it was just a dream and wake myself up.

So naturally when this beautiful bed frame and nightstands were delivered yesterday, my Christmas present to myself, I expected the usual nightmares ... but there were none!  How cool is that!!

It's much shorter so Jessie has no problem jumping up, I don't need a ladder and it's a breeze to make.  No more fighting the footboard for blanket room!!

Unfortunately, the guys making the delivery refused to even touch any other piece of furniture in my house, so as you can see on the far left, the old headboard is still in the room.  I'm hoping Vyacheslav has BIG muscles, because I have LOTS of furniture to move around!!
I even offered those guys extra cash, but they wouldn't budge.  My next choice in helpers just had surgery, the third has left town (he must have heard I needed help) and the fourth just isn't strong enough (it's an age thing).  RATS ... my guests may be sleeping on the floor!!  Not that I have any guests, but you know, it's good to be prepared!!

The dresser is beautiful, although the drawers are slightly smaller.  Time for some reorganization and trash tossing.  I probably don't need all that running gear any more ... same goes for those sexy nightgowns that didn't work anyway!!
This dresser found the perfect home when my long time bestie Lynn saw it on the blog and called to ask if I was selling it.  Since it was going to such a good friend, it wasn't for sale, but for free.  Wait ... it's an antique, she said!  Yes, but there's no sentimental value here and it needs a good home, kind of like the many rescue animals she has helped over the years.  We loaded it in her SUV with no problem at all and I got an entire bag of Avon products in return!!!  It was the perfect exchange!!
Ohhhhh ... you remembered it was Magic Kingdom time at the Elks last night.  Being the first of the month (everyone who plays got paid), there was a huge crowd that we handled with ease.  There was lots of disorder going on around us and it was so noisy we could hardly hear ... but the Castle Lawyer and I kept our noses to the grindstone and came out smelling like a rose!!  We balanced!!  In return for all our hard work, we got a free hamburger or hotdog, the perfect meal to give you major heartburn within ten minutes of consumption.  As always, it worked like a charm!

The good news, for us anyway, was that we will be closed for two weeks at Christmas and New Years.  That announcement brought BOOS from the crowd and silent cheers from the 18 crew members!

It's organization day one ... time to get that dresser straightened out before I head to the closets!!  Maybe in the meantime, I'll run across some guy with lovely big biceps to help me move that headboard!

  1. If you go to Harbor Freight for about $15 you can buy some furniture movers. Just put an end up on it and roll it where you want it. Also the furniture sliders work well.

  3. Vyacheslav has big muscles and will move furniture. Vyacheslav has Vodkamares, same as nightmares but when you drink much Vodka. Your good friends look out for you and say send picture of Vyacheslav. I do not have camera so imagine cowboy in tight pants or send one million rubles and I buy camera and send picture of cowboy in tight pants. Also do not worry about family and friends they only stay short time but please do not give away all furniture because family and friends will need place to stay. Disregard last sentence Vyacheslav do not want to scare you.
