I Don't Understand The Violence

Things were better in the old days.  There might have been a serial killer around here and there, but I don't remember all the crazy violent shootings going on.  Maybe it's just that we didn't have social media and an instant connection to the news held in our hands every second.

It seems these guys are buoyed up by the violence of one, to go on their own little shooting spree and become infamous.  Do they really think they will survive to receive accolades from their pals?  Is that what they are after, the notoriety?  Do they think it will make them look like a hero to their buddies?  It seems to be the case.  I'm terribly saddened for the families of the innocent victims.  It certainly makes you want to stay home.
Even sadder, no amount of control will solve the situation.  Not parenting control, nor social media control, nor gun control .... nothing is going to help stop these shootings except us, the people. Surely SOMEONE knew this was going to happen again.  They are just as guilty in my book for not coming forward.

The shooters are dead.  There's no coming back from that.  I hope that fact really hit home before each one took their last breath.

Prayers to all the families who have lost their loved ones to such nonsensical killing.

  1. A heart warming post, Nancy. I don't understand it either. Why do you have to take people with you when you want to screw up OR end your own pathetic existence? My prayers are with the families also.

  2. It is unbelievable how many of these violent acts are taking place. Lots of other blogs have their own opinions.
I feel that with all these violent electronic games and movies kids are loosing touch with reality. They become disheartened thinking that real life is the same as the game or like the movie they will see the same actors in another movie coming soon. The game or movie does not have real blood, victims or consequences. Real life real victims and their families are affected. Real blood that not only supports life but when it comes out from violence creates a Post Traumatic Image that will never fade from one's memory. When you loose the game you simply start over but in real life the victims are gone and if you survive it won't be for long.
Our prayers go out to those affected.

    It's about time.

    1. Well, I would like to point out that Japan and Europe all play those terrible video games, and they don't have mass shootings. They also don't have access to guns over the internet.
