What a beautiful sunny morning in the Arizona Desert. My plan was to put on some shorts and lay out on the patio, soaking up some vitamin D. Instead, Vail Gale decided to visit with 25 mph winds most of the day. Still a tad bit tired from my cold, I thought I might paint this wall. It's easy, right?
I never really thought of myself as hard on tools, but apparently that is the case. About halfway through, the roller came loose in the handle. The only way I could finish was to use both hands, a very awkward and tiring proposition.
When the wall was done, I decided to call it a day and contact my insurance company to be sure the motorhome insurance was paid. Yes, that was a big mistake on my part. Here we go again ..... it sent me into a place I don't usually go. Here's why.
2017 - $1900
2018 - $2400
2019 - $2600
2020 - $3490
They tried to tell me it was NOT because of the windshield I had replaced, but I think they lie. This is with Progressive I might add. So today I'll be on the phone with Nationwide, Geico, State Farm and National General to see what can be done. There is also a big FMCA rally here in a couple of weeks. I'm sure there will be insurance people there I can speak with.
It's just so maddening to get ripped off like that. After all, THEY are the ones who gave me the vanishing deductible that made my two broken windshields free ... I never asked for it!! Grrrrrrr
I headed off to see Mr. Chance about becoming an Arizona citizen permanently. It's an easy conversion if my other plan of just garaging my rig in Arizona doesn't work. I'll let you know how it goes.
AND lucky for me, Dan had an extra roller I could borrow for the garage. Gee ... now I have to go back to painting. I finished up the short end wall and did about half the ceiling. I kept thinking how cool it was I didn't get paint all over me. Then I happened to look in the mirror. It took me 30 minutes to get the big white spots out of my hair.
Exhausted, I didn't feel like cooking, not that I spend much time in that endeavor anyway, and remembered it was password Thursday. Say the magic word and Arizona Pizza Company gives you a $6.00 discount. $20 for a large that will last at least five days.
It was the perfect way to end a lovely day!! Weird Arizona weather has struck again however, with 22-25 mph winds all day today, bringing rain on and off this next week. Maybe I'll be able to finish painting the garage, or maybe I'll take up a new hobby ...... like chain painting!! Yup, it's a real thing!!
