It's A Tsunami!!!

The early bird catches the worm, my BFF Patty says, and yesterday she was right.  One of the things I stress about ... it's ridiculous, I know ... is finding a parking spot at the Thousand Trails Parks.  My membership lets me stay up to three weeks in any park, FREE.  Well not exactly, I pay a yearly fee of close to $500.  Based on the average night's stay anywhere else, after about 17 nights, the rest of the year costs me nothing.  I always have reservations, but never for a specific space.

I left early yesterday, requiring fuel in Tillamook before heading out.  Leaving early is always good traffic wise.  I breezed through all the construction and right through Seaside without stopping once, arriving earlier than I expected.  And there, what to my wondrous eyes should appear but my old site from last year ... empty as could be ... right up front.  Holy cow I'm a lucky camper!!  Stress free until next week when I do it all over again in Long Beach!!

First stop ... it's a tsunami of pastrami!!  The Tsunami Sandwich Company has the best sandwiches in town.  Almost at the end of Broadway Street where the turnaround is, you definitely want to stop in here for grub.
The Chance Family and I found this little place a few years ago and ordered up the best pastrami sandwich EVER!!  If there's two of you, you'll want to split this monstrosity.  Sandwich and chips, $11.00, extra for a soda.  Seriously, look at the amount of meat!!
It's huge!!  This pepsi cup is at least 9 inches tall, and you can only see HALF of the sandwich.  This is where the doggy bag comes into play.  The juiciest, leanest, thinnest sliced pastrami ... it's the bomb!!
Stuffed to the gills, I admired the flowers growing up and down the street, although since it's been so cold, they aren't nearly as fabulous as last year.  I even checked out the wild berries growing just beyond my rig, but alas, they are only beginning to flower, so there's no berries to be had.
My all time favorite clothing store Ter-Har always has nice things that fit.  Not cheap mind you, but most of the blouses I've purchased there have lasted several years.  That was my one and only splurge ... except for maybe ice cream, which will be later on in the week!!
Today Betty Graffis is coming to visit and I can't wait.  I think the last time I saw her was several years ago in Newport.  It will be fun to catch up!!

  1. When it comes to buying clothes think mathematics, if you pay $50 for a blouse and you keep it five years that's $10 a year
And fashion wise, if you keep it six it'll come back in style ( priceless )
With all the snow and wind predicted. The berries, they won't bloom until mid November

  4. Like Carol pass along greetings to Betty from Kathy and I.
The days when we could eat sandwiches like that and it didn't show are long past. Doggy Bags are a great invention.
    Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time.

    1. I'm in LOVE with doggy bags ... especially being single. I can never eat it all and have no one to share it with. It just means I get to enjoy it twice as much!!

  5. Hi again. It's Betty even though Google says I'm unknown. After we left, we ate lunch at the Crabby Oyster. Yellow building on the corner right next to Norma's. I enjoyed my fish and chips and chowder. The last time I was there Joe and I ate at Norma's which was also wonderful. WE took advantage of their early bird special! Thanks again for the great visit. I loved rubbing Jesses tummy and listening to Jonathan! Lets get together again, maybe on your way back if it works out. Safe travels to you!!

    1. It's a deal Betty!! I'm glad you enjoyed lunch. I haven't been to the Crabby Oyster yet ... I'll give it a shot. Jessie loved it as much as you did. See you on the way back, I'm sure!
