Guess Who's Coming To Dinner

You're not going to believe this, but with the cooler weather, I'm out of shorts and back into levis.  Probably not for long, but the mornings have been down in the 60's.  I open up all the doors and turn on the house fan to circulate the lovely cool air.  It's all about the little things.

Course it doesn't take long to lock everything back up because there is usually some place on my list I just HAVE to go.  On this day it was back to the fabric shop with the largest selection of batik material I've ever seen.  This time I was going for an Arizona sunset look and think I nailed it.

We will see how it turns out.  It may just be a tad too much color!!
On the way home yesterday from galavanting around Tucson, mostly because I was lost AGAIN, I was met with this huge storm.  I'm heading right into black skies.  It's okay though, I've got my $40 windshield wipers to protect me.  HA!!!
As I turned off and headed to my little ranch house, I figured I was going to get wet.  Still in the sunshine, I'm headed into the mouth of the storm.  Would you look at that lovely 18" tall green grass?  Luckily I made it, just in time to miss the rain and get a phone call from the Chance Ranch about having dinner OUT.  That worked for me!!
If you haven't been to Saguaro Corners, you should give it a try.  Kind of out in the boonies, they have a great outdoor patio (with misters) and really good country and western singers every Thursday night.  On this night, even though it was cool ..... so to speak .... we sat inside.

The John Wayne burger that Dan ordered is my favorite.  WAY too big for my tiny tummy!
Suddenly we were interrupted by dinner guests.  The Javelina clan had joined the party just outside the windows we were sitting by.  I think there were six in all, looking for any kind of handouts they could find.
Wild pigs, javelinas or pecaries depending on where you live, these guys are cute in their own little way.  This bunch of six were pretty thin looking as they made their way around the restaurant looking for snacks.  How fun when unexpected company arrives.
Had I been outside, I probably would have offered them half of my sandwich ... a huge turkey melt that I couldn't finish.
I made it back home just in time to watch the Giants lose to the Rockies AGAIN.  Of course they ARE in first place right now, just ahead of the Arizona Diamondbacks, thanks to us.  Hopefully the Diamondbacks can pull it out and win the division.  BEAT LA!!!

SO much stuff to tell you and so little space!  Tomorrow we will have the Saga Of The Watch!!

  1. That Storm looked to be a strong one. Good thing you weren't driving the RV or you would have been finding someplace to park.
Wise you didn't share with the Javelinas. First they might have found a long lost relative. Second they would have been trying to get into the restaurant and they don't carry Credit Cards.
    Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time.

    1. True on all counts. The javelinas aren't the least bit cute, but you can't help but like them.

  2. Gotta love seeing those Javelinas in the wild , have spotted them a few times there on our travels. Nice that you now have good wipers blades for when you need them.

    1. They are the first I've seen this year. Usually there's a mom or two at my water station.

  3. I usually pack up half a restaurant meal in a go box before I even start eating. That takes away the impulse to eat until I cry.

    1. That's a GREAT idea that my ex-sister-in-law practices. I did take half home ... it was just too much food!!

  4. Where you're out gallivanting around.
you have a full tank of gas!
you haven't maxed out your credit card
You're traveling on streets you've never been before.
    you're never lost.
Just chalk it up as a fun mis-guided Exploration?

    1. Pretty much misguided is right, and it does save on the credit card ... until I find that store I wasn't looking for!!

    1. Yes ... been there a couple of times. LOVE the beautiful mountains. The town is a little pricey though.

  6. Being in Colorado, I heard some of two of the Rockies/Giants games...but it is hard to listen to a Giants game when the announcer is NOT for the Giants!

I think they need to put "PIG" on the menu, but I agree, that Burger looks GREAT (tomato slices instead fries though, and no bun)

    1. Agreed ... no one seems to be as good as the Giants announcers. Maybe I'm just prejudiced, but everyone else seems to say bad things about players.
