The REST of the Tent

It was SUCH a tough day, but somebody's got to do it.  Then somebody needs to sleep for a few hours.  Too bad it wasn't ME!  The kid is hanging in there in spite of the reduction in his space to less than 18 square feet.

All the while, Patsy was doing the tough work too  ... laundry.  I rested up because I knew we were going walking again.  Off we went, wondering why my watch said we went 2 miles, while hers said 1 mile.  We fixed it a little later.  If you look very closely, you can see a huge saguaro growing in the middle of the tree.

In the meantime, here's the rest of the Big Tent.  Puppies galore!  This year many had their pups in wagons and strollers.  Much better NOT to step on tiny toes.

Here's a new booth that interested both Patsy and I.  It's called RockPot.  That white round thing is a piece of stone.  You heat it up on a high stove setting for 30 minutes, before putting it inside the biggest pot.  Add the next pot and your roast, onions, potatoes or whatever, put on the glass lid and the black top to seal.  Done!  Let it sit all day long and it will cook up a delicious meal.  The price wasn't quite as delicious at $250.  Only $200 for the smaller four quart (I think).

I was quite hooked until Patsy mentioned how much easier an instant pot was.  And done in only 30-40 minutes.  Ummm yes I think she was right.  No purchase here.

As we walked outside heading for the exit, we ran into these three cuties ... two girls and their brother ... selling lemonade.  Dad said the lollipops were free, so don't let the kids talk you into paying for them.  We both bought a cup.  You've gotta love entrepreneurship in kids.

And so the spoils of the day!  Magnetic clips, lens cleaners, pens, candy, bottle openers and the green lamp.

No Jim, it does not have whiskey in it.  It has little lights that come on with a turn of the cork.  I was torn between the Quartzsite one and the Elk .. but you can see which one won.

As for the electric foldable bicycle ... here it is!!  I love that you all thought it was ME that bought one.  But no, this was Duncan's purchase, which he folded up and fit in the trunk of their car.  Originally $1400, it is on sale online for $999.  At the show?  $500.  Now that's a deal!!

I rode it down the lane and was really hooked, but on second and third thought, don't think I would use it much.  I live out in the country, so no going to the store.  Maybe I would use it in Quartzsite once a year, but I would always be riding by myself, not to mention it would be a little difficult to carry a case of water on the back.

After our long walk, I unhooked my rig and headed off for the two cases of water I needed, along with salad stuff for the potluck next week.  Coyote Fresh had everything I was looking for.  On the way back, I took a circuitous route to charge up the engine battery a bit.  I checked the mileage of our walk so Patsy could adjust her settings to reflect the real distance she went.  Turns out it was almost twice what her phone was telling her.

In the afternoon, Patsy and I finished the puzzle.  This really was a tough one.  We thought it was missing two pieces, but when Patsy got up and looked under the cushion, there were the two pieces.  How the heck did THAT happen?  And so it's done.  I think there are at least 30 or more puzzles to choose from next.

Another great day at Quartzsite was in the books.  Today starts a new day, a new week and a new FOUR YEARS!!!  EEEHAWWWWW!!!
