Good Morning Quartzsite!! I was a slacker today. Only 8,500 steps! And it's all Patsy's fault!! Actually I'm very thankful for her determination and motivation to get out there every morning for a freezing cold walk. This is what we see when we start out.
Here she is wearing her crown of pine wreath on the way back. It happened someone put FREE STUFF on a chair. Who could walk by that? Patsy kept the wreath, but we both passed on the little Christmas tree.
I on the other hand, went straight for the foil pans. I can use these to practice with my convection oven. Since Patsy was nice enough to come over, and in her perfect Canadian accent, give me instructions on my Canadian convection oven, I now have no excuse not to try a breakfast casserole. I'll make it tonight and leave it in the fridge, to bake tomorrow morning.
Poker pool was up next, almost three hours of seven ladies hitting the cue ball into the pockets. No one ever said we were GOOD at it. In fact, Patsy and I tied for ..... wait for it ..... LAST PLACE!! Woohoo!! I think I need lessons.
Lunch was spent in the rig since the wind decided to come up. We were heading into the arctic with 35 degrees, but my app says it's only 37 this morning! I spent most of the afternoon playing with this kid. He's SO demanding. I think we went outside six times, adding to my step count.
It wasn't pleasant with all the dust blowing around, so back in the rig we went. I even had to find some rocks to keep my outside rug on the ground.
Once again I tried heating up pizza on my induction stove. These pans work great, but I have no lids. This thing is a thingy-ma-bob you are supposed to put UNDER the pan to keep from scratching the surface. It worked perfect as a lid, even though it's a screen. This is the leftover Outback pizza and was once again, delicious.
The afternoon was spent indoors working on yet another puzzle. You can tell Patsy did the top portion. She's crazy fast at these things. I barely got the bottom pieces, which should have been easy since they are words!!
At long last I called UNCLE. The wind was blowing so hard, I lost the door as it slammed into the railing. I barely made it back to the rig, and I'm sure I saw Toto flying by.
I watched a little TV on my awesome Dish Network dish before calling it a night. This morning we'll be back at it with walking, puzzling and pokeno-ing. Another nice day in the desert.
I have some silicon lids that can actually seal. They came in an assortment of sizes.
ReplyDeleteCooper sure takes some cute pictures! I got one to send to my sister yesterday of Indy having a celebratory Hot Dog (her favorite treat that she gets once a month or so) and in the background was the Inauguration. Sandy sent back a big LOL
ReplyDeleteCute pic of Patsy and her "crown" LOL. Pizza looks yummy! :0
ReplyDeleteIt's 36 here this morning.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your casserole.
Happy Tuesday!
Frances:)
Hi Nancy, try the aluminum pan as a lid. It's lightweight and inverted might cover the open pan. You can also hit the Goodwill or yardsales looking for a small lid in the odds and ends? Or ask the neighbors if they have something they don't need anymore?
ReplyDeleteCooper looks like he is enjoying himself between naps

That Cooper is just so darn cute! Doris from Pa
ReplyDeleteThat photo of Cooper looking right at you is the best one I have seen of him So cute! Try a piece of foil on the top of your skillet, you can then seal it loosely or tight. Good luck.
