A very good morning to y'all from sunny Arizona. It was not very warm on this day, and it's getting colder as I type. The rest of the week it will be down in the 30's at night, so it's probably a good thing I'm moving on down the road today.
By the way, if anyone needs an alarm clock, I've got one you can borrow. This kid ... he wakes up at 4:00 every single morning. As you can see, that is PLAY time. Once he has me playing the game and giving out snacks, he promptly goes back to sleep. It's like hitting the snooze button, but I never get to snooze.
There really wasn't much on the agenda, which is a good thing, but sitting around isn't our idea of fun. THIS however is fun with a capital F for Miss Snoopy. Does this picture look familiar to someone Patsy and Bill know? I think Mr. Gibbs favorite spot is sitting behind Patsy at her computer. Same with Snoopy.
Finally up and at 'em, Mr. Coop and I go for a walk up the hill. What a bird dog. So far he has flushed out three quail, something I heard but never saw, and two rabbits. It's all about the smells of course, and no, I don't let him get anywhere near them.
Not willing to let moss grow under our feet, Patty and I headed off to the local Thrift shop. They have so many good ones here, it's amazing. We have only one Goodwill store and they won't take anything, besides which, we do NOT donate to them. They spend all their profits on salaries for the higher ups.
Instead we went to a smaller one across town where they had a parking lot carousel for sale, along with a huge plaster snake for your back yard. I need a trailer!!
What I DID find is this puzzle for Patsy to work on in Q. $2.59 . You can't beat that with a stick. I'm thinking it looks similar to one we put together previously, so I hope it's a new one.
On the way back, we stopped in at Safeway for a few last minute things I needed before packing up. This may (or may not) be the same low carb bread Patsy has been finding. This particular one has slices cut thicker and I would SWEAR is regular bread.
I've had a ham sandwich, a grilled cheese and just plain old toast. Even better, it doesn't bother my stomach like REAL bread. THIS is a keeper.
Back home, I began organizing a bit, figuring out what I need to do before I leave. Patty filled her honey bee feeder. It's called that because the bees cover the holes all day long. This woodpecker wanted some too, but had to fight off the bees. They dive-bombed her time after time ... and she just kept pecking at them, determined to get her share. I feel that way about cherry pie and ice cream!!
I fotgot to show the beautiful flowers I received for my birthday when Patty and Dan's son and daughter in law came to dinner. How sweet was that? Since it really was my SECOND birthday, we all shared in the good wishes.
That was it ... a great day with my bestest friend!! Patty got a phone call from Dan saying the tire was replaced and everything was hunky dory. He had a perfect second day ride, making up for the delay.
This morning I'm off to warmer weather, 75 degree days and 50 degree nights. What could be better? I'll be staying in Yuma for the next week. I think there is a quilt show in my future!!!
When I finally head home, I'll probably look like a covered wagon going across the prairie, dumping all the furniture in order to fit my fabric in the rig.
Happy Birthday! You may need a BIGGER RIG for the new fabric! Could always mail a box of fabric to your house-UPS!!
ReplyDeleteSafe travels today.
I'm thinking I should stick with the smaller one so I don't buy quite so MUCH fabric, but that makes THREE of you wonderful people who have suggested mailing stuff home. THAT is a GREAT idea!!!!!
DeleteGlad you finally found a Keto/Low Carb bread that you like. Just hope you can find it back in Atwater/Merced, although Amazon does have it .... for a price, of course. I think once you said you were not going to cross the "70" threshold with birthdays, so I have finally caught up to you...and we will remain in our sixties until we are in the grave! LOL
ReplyDeleteThat works for me, Dave!! Believe it or not, that bread came from Safeway and isn't as expensive as Amazon OR Walmart! But then it was on sale.
DeleteSafe travels to Yuma! I have to check out that bread.
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday!
Be safe!
Frances:)
Depending on where you buy it, it can be pricey, but it looks and acts just like REAL bread!
DeleteHappy 2nd Birthday, think I missed when your first was?! Glad you've had a wonderful time with Patty and Dan! Sure you will have a great time in Yuma!
ReplyDeleteThank you Shirley!! I pretty much try to forget those birthdays!! LOL
DeleteThe picture with the Indian pottery...I miss seeing my Indian pottery. It got packed away and I don't know where it is. I hope "they" didn't throw it away! Hope we get to see you in Yuma.
ReplyDeleteI love that pottery look. Beautiful stuff. Hope you find it.
DeleteYou sound like you are having a good time, some pets make great alarm clocks, my sister's kitten wakes her at 5am. I do not have the patience for jigsaw puzzles
ReplyDeleteIt's been very fun Joanne. Nice to get away. We have to love those critters!!
DeleteYou are behind spoiled! Perfect! 😂
ReplyDeleteWell it looks like Miss Snoopy has a lot more room than Gibbs or I have! Too funny.
C u soon. Have fun in Yuma.
Ps, that bread is one I've bought too. Glad you like it!
