BAD ... GOOD ... BAD

It's the way of life I suppose.  There's good news, bad news and eventually good news again.  On this day, I started off with the bad.  I emptied the very last can of Orange Cafe coffee.  I've been drinking this yummy brew since the 1980's.  It's the best one they ever made.  Not too sweet, not too strong, but JUST right!!  This can had 2019 stamped on the bottom.  I'm now relegated to Cafe Vienna ... no relation, and definitely NOT the same flavor.  It's the end of an era.  I'm sad.

I thought maybe some of that Belgian chocolate would perk me up.  The King told me it was DARK chocolate, not my favorite, but I was willing to give it a shot.  Well ... apparently it was in his very hot car all day before he gave it to me.  When I opened the package, it dripped out.

I took that first taste and OH MY GREAT AUNT SUZIE!  How can anything taste this good?  I quickly put it in the fridge to set up.  An hour later I broke off a piece and took a REAL taste.  OH MAMA ... WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE??  This stuff is food from the Gods.  How did I not know about it??  I cannot find any indication of the brand, but you can bet your sweet patootie that I will be ordering MORE of this .... BUCKETS more!!

My soul temporarily soothed with chocolate, I told Cooper goodbye as I headed off to the three local cheap stores looking for big plastic plates on which to serve the Shrimp Feed appetizers.  He wasn't exactly excited about me being gone.

Oh my gosh ... doesn't anyone work any more?  Marshalls was so crowded I couldn't even get down the aisles.  They obviously overbought from somewhere.  Things were falling off the shelves and you couldn't even get a shirt out of the rack to see what it looked like.  I found this one on an end cap and grabbed it.  My closet is full of polo shirts and "cowboy", none of which work for anything remotely fancy.  It fits perfect and cost $19.00.  You can't beat that with a stick.

The plates?  Never found anything that would work.

Two stores later and I was back home checking for tomatoes.  This is only one Early Girl plant, going crazy.  It required three tomato cages and has grown taller than the fence.  Alas, only four red tomatoes so far.  Maybe in a couple of days when the temps hit 102.

Some good news .... I finished the last border on this quilt.  I decided it was too small and needed one more, but I couldn't find any fabric that was acceptable.  It's still hanging on the wall.

More good news ... I found this panel hiding under yards of other fabric, and whipped up this one in about an hour.  The Shrimp Feed asked for TWO small quilts with a patriotic theme.  This should work just fine.

The last and the WORST news of the day.  I'm sick.  Yup ... I told my Fairy Godmother she sounded sickly and she should GO HOME, but alas, playing BINGO is an obsession.  She stayed and gave me her bug two weeks ago.

So far I'm just snuffy and I sound a little raspy.  She came back the following week just fine, so I'm hoping it's just a quickie.  Maybe, just MAYBE if I eat the rest of that Belgian chocolate bar in one fell swoop, it will help!  Then I'll be on my computer trying to find out where I can buy more!!!  Like THREE CASES more!!

  1. We do have to take the good with the bad, it's called life, isn't it?
Sorry you're sick. That Belgian chocolate probably isn't hard to find but go easy. I don't think it is keto!

  2. Speaking from experience.....DO NOT have chocolate delivered by Amazon, FedEx, UPS in the summer months. Go get it and bring directly home! :)) Quilts look GREAT!

  3. Sorry you are not feeling well.
Chocolate fix is a great idea, just not to much at a time. Lol
Sometimes the dollar store has those large plastic trays.
    Happy Thursday!
