It was a normal day, the sun shining brightly in the sky, the dogs barking, the cat meowing, nothing that would raise your hackles ..... until I saw THIS!!
ALIENS ... for real, these things are ALIENS!! I hate them ... always have and always will. They are squishy, sticky, and their feet cling to you so tight they won't let go when you try to! Masters of disguise, the only way you know they are there is because half of your tomato plant disappeared.
No kidding ... one entire half inch STEM is now gone. And so is HE. I ran inside, got my gloves and grabbed him very unceremoniously. The rock that fell on him was a BIG ONE. I didn't see evidence of any more, but I'm sure I will. EWWWWW!!!!!
After that horrible interaction, Mr. Cooper and I took off for the V E T S office. You have to spell it since it is a bad word around here. I can't believe it's been two months and his allergy shot has worn off.
I was lucky to get in, only because I've been going to this Vet since 1985 when they first opened. Yessiree ... 40 years at the same place. Twenty five of those years with the same Vet. He didn't have time to see me on this day, but he squeezed us in anyway.
His decision to forgo the shot and try a new pill was a good one. It's a miracle that after only one pill, Cooper isn't chewing on his legs, his feet and anything he can reach. That a relief for both of us. The best part, he only needs one when I see him scratching or chewing since it has lasting effects.
The appointment took so long that I missed the meeting at the Lodge regarding the Shrimp Feed. Oh DARN!! That gave me more time to grab my glue gun and finish up this wreath. No bow. I'm torn between putting this on MY door and donating it to the Shrimp Feed auction. They could use something original instead of bottles of booze.
Dinner was once again that amazing garlic bread made into a delicious grilled cheese, this time adding in tomato ... fresh from the garden. Oh my Great Aunt Suzie ... it was Delicious with a capital D!! I could eat this every day. Not especially good for my diet though .....
That brought on another round of creativity. I'm not sure where all this energy or these ideas came from. I mean really, I haven't done ANY of this stuff in at least 25 years!! Back in the day we were constantly making things like this to decorate the house.
The problem with all this is that NOW I have to clean out the big bedroom closet, since I have absolutely NO room to store ANYTHING. Beyond that, it's the garage ... and boy oh boy, I really do NOT want to go THERE!!
This one definitely needs a bow, but the one I made blends in too much. I'm on the hunt for a good color, which of course means another trip to ... you guessed it ... Hobby Lobby. Oh DARN again ... because tomorrow I pick up the last two embroidery quilt pieces ... which live just down the street from the big store.
Anyhoo .. just to celebrate finishing that wreath and Cooper's not licking and chewing, I ate the first ice cream I've had in at least a month, if not more. Even Cooper got a little bite. Funny though ... it didn't taste NEAR as good as I expected it too. That's probably a good thing!
And so it's another day ... and another TUESDAY ... and the KING is out of town. What's that saying ... WHILE THE CAT'S AWAY, THE MICE WILL PLAY?
Probably not THIS one however, since after staying so late at Bingo, I will have to go back early in the morning to count the cash and go to the bank. I think that's going to require a LOT of coffee!!! Wish me luck please, that the peasants don't tear me limb from limb!
I had the same ice cream last night! YUM!:)
ReplyDeleteGoing to sprinkle garlic powder on my grilled cheese next time I have one ~ thanks! Happy Bingo!
Agree about the tomato hornworm.....ICK :(
Wreath is beautiful, makes me want to start getting fall decor out.
ReplyDeleteHappy Bingo Tuesday!
Frances:)
Love your wreaths!!! If you could get more of the same materials from HL, I would donate the fall one. With fall coming so, it should get a good price.
