The UPS and DOWNS

BOO!!!  Yeah, didn't scare me either, but if you saw me in person you might think differently.  Mornings are hard when you feel like the walking dead.  I feel very much akin to this picture.

After a couple hours of coughing my head off and feeling like I'm going to collapse, I'm ready to scare just about any trick or treater that comes to the door.  Unfortunately for him, it was the UPS guy.  He quickly backed away.

It makes for a very long day when you have no energy to do anything and it rains cats and dogs the entire time.  Apparently we got in on some of that hurricane action swirling over California.  It literally poured most of the day.

That meant I couldn't even check the tomatoes.  My flower beds around the house were full to the brim and overflowing across the driveway.  Of course one gutter was a waterfall in front of the house, in spite of having been checked and cleaned recently.  Truly, I wasn't going to find out why any time soon,

This crazy bird was loving it though ... sitting on the fence taking a bath for about ten minutes.  Lucky for him, Kitters was inside or he would have been lunch.

There was no sewing, no quilting and no cooking going on.  I sat on the couch like a blob of jelly.  Oh I got up on occasion and wandered around the house and down the hall, for no reason whatsoever.  I could not get motivated, and when I did, it was only enough to get me back to the couch and sit down.  I hate it when that happens.

Kitters came in for a bit and parked on the old coffee table.  You don't have to listen too closely to figure out what's going on here.  SOMEONE wasn't happy with company today.  I think he's figure out Kitters is getting just WAY TOO MUCH attention.  Unfortunately for her, Kitters became way too enamored with Cooper's dog food and out the door she went.

She doesn't mind at all, as she thinks that means more food.  Cooper can take it or leave it, but Kitters ... she is all about the food.  I'm not surprised considering she was starving when I found her.

In other good news, I spent well over two hours on the computer looking for this contraption before giving up completely.  If you look up GripTite, all you get is roofing materials and tar.

Mr. Ed however, is a genius at finding such things.  No, he didn't find it at some off the wall old junk yard in Florida ... he found it on Amazon.  How can that be?  I looked there for HOURS!  Sure enough, it looks just like this one, so it's on order, in spite of its rather high price.  Anything is better than $300+ for a new bar rack.

Sadly for me however, I spent the entire afternoon (while water poured from the sky) coughing every three seconds.  It's not fun.

I try very hard not to take pills ... but I finally relented about midnight.

Bingo must have gone well since I only got five text messages ... yes I can work ... I'm on my way ... I arrived safely ... counting girl is gone ... Eddie is counting .....  that's when I turned my phone OFF.

Here's hoping today is a little better with no rain.  I have to drag out my tallest ladder and get that gutter fixed so it drains properly while navigating the ups and downs (mostly downs) of being sick!!  Oh the fun!!

  1. Sometimes I have no choice but to take medication to get through things. You should try it, rather than suffering.
By not being at Bingo, will make them realize that you need help and they should have a backup plan.
Adding Leaf Guards to your Eavestroughs would be safer than the ladders.
Stay Safe and Enjoy your couch.

    It's about time.

  2. Hope you get better soon. Coughing is no fun and really makes one tired.
We got almost 2 inches of much needed rain.
    Rest!

  3. I hope you feel better tomorrow...maybe a spoonful of honey will help with the coughing if you don't have cough syrup.
