Such a sweet face for a troublemaker!! Kitters was allowed to stay in the house last night ... possibly her one and only chance to make a good impression. We went to bed and she snuck into the bathroom. There was a clink ... a jiggle ... and a big POP that scared both Cooper and I. He barked, I yelled and quiet ensued.
Oh but wait ... at 3:30 am she jumped up onto the only table in the house that makes a racket! Watchpup jumped up and started barking. This is not working out the way I imagined.
Then she comes and does THIS! Snuggling up and purring like mad. These critters ... they know exactly how to get to you!!! Big sigh ... and so we were up VERY early this morning.
I had hoped for a nice relaxing stay-at-home day, but the IRS reared its ugly head. I gathered all the papers I could find, but as you know, we all do things on the computer now. Nothing seems to come in written form. I spent an hour downloading my house payment info which needed to be printed out. EXCEPT I ran out of printer paper. Amazon will deliver that today.
I got one whole page printed on the last piece of paper, when the printer ran completely out of ink. Good grief ... I was SURE I had another cartridge, but as with most accountants, my desk is a disaster and nothing could be found. Another Amazon order was made.
Maybe I'll sew for a bit. Here's the first block. Not quite as I imagined, but then I'm never right when it comes to colors and their placement. This was it ... the only thing I got done when the phone rang. The company I'm doing books for was thinking about IRS as well, and how to manage all those fifteen bank accounts. CAN YOU COME NOW!!!
I looked out the window to see fog like the old days. We were socked in with visibility less than 20 feet. SURE ... why not. I'll be there in 30 minutes. Three hours later I had their books ready for the tax guys to do their magic. Another day will be required to go over every bank account and see if they are truly needed. I already know the answer to that question.
So here's my tip of the day. Please SHARE your banking info with your husband, wife, significant other, boyfriend or girlfriend, or maybe a family member. It's not a good thing when the only person who has managed your finances for 50 years can no longer do so. At least write it all down so someone can make heads and tails of it.
I got back home safely and turned the heater up a bit more. Fog chills you to the bone. I've shown you this before, but I should make a video. You don't see this unless you shine a flashlight into the dark. This is what tule fog looks like, swirling around and around, up and down, soaking everything along the way.
Here it is up close. Minuscule droplets float in the air kind of like snow, but they go sideways instead of down. It's really quite fascinating. And COLD. And WET!!
Which is why Mr. Cooper and I stay inside if at all possible. Kitters stayed inside too ... all day long. She's no dummy ... she doesn't like the cold wet fog either. She's so funny ... if she is out in the corral and I call, she will come to the edge of the lawn, but won't cross it and get her tootsies wet. She walks around the entire yard on the mow strip until she hits the sidewalk. Pretty smart kitty!!
And so ended another day with me sewing a bit more. I think I will have five blocks finished. THEN ... it will be nap time because we have TWO playoff football games to watch today!!!
Cooper, Kitters and I will be ON THE COUCH!
