Yuma Arizona ... land of the sun. Sometimes. Actually it's been quite wonderful ... not too hot and not too cold. Just like the three bears, it has been JUST RIGHT!
Since I was up all night long with Coop, I missed the WalkFit class. Oh Darn!! I still got in over 10,000 steps and over 4.5 miles. Thankfully, Mr. Cooper is doing much better today, and even ate twice!! He's now crashed on the couch!! Hopefully we are over the worst part and on the mend with the meds I gave him. It's always good to bring the kitchen sink just in case.
Breakfast was fabulous with bananas, pancakes, bacon and maple syrup. YUM YUM!! Cindy and Ray put on quite the spread!!
First stop of the day ... Green Tree. It's a discount grocery store that has tons of food, and the same number of people inside. I of course made a beeline for the ice cream freezer. Oh yeah .... THREE containers of Haagen-Dazs ice cream for $1.00 each. In California, this ice cream is $7.00 per container. Expiration date Mar 2026. Oh ... the Reese's peanut butter cups? Halloween candy, $3.00 instead of $8.00. We should have a store like this in our town.
I also picked up two bottles of poultry spice for $1.00 each ... expiration in 2027. I love that store!!
As for house shopping ... here's one with the front porch screened in. You can see out, but you can't see in. It adds another entire space to the house. The gazebo is awesome, but all the wonderful furniture inside it is not included. It's pretty pricey at $255,000. One bedroom, 1-1/2 bath. Oh, and it's missing the all important STOVE. It only has an induction hotplate.
Next on the list ... this one, maybe a bit smaller, one bedroom, one bath, but with a huge enclosed patio behind the trailer. It's older, but has everything I need, including a tiny grass area for Cooper and gates to keep him inside. These folks like it here so much, they bought another bigger place, so are selling this one.
There's another one, the same as the first one, but WITH a stove and beautiful countertops. Of course I can't decide one way or the other. The prices are kind of high. Bigger units go for $350-400,000, but I'm not going there.
The day ended with another beautiful sunset. I think if I didn't have any obligations in California, I would move here permanently. Less to take care of, cheaper everything and very friendly people. I even got a lesson in electric bikes just by asking one question of a lovely couple riding around the park.
It was a lovely day in spite of the stress of Cooper not feeling up to par. Sadly, we had another not so great night, but better than the previous one. I've got my fingers crossed for today!! For me, there's nothing worse than my "family" not feeling well.
On the other hand, I saw Kitters crawl into her house last night, so all is well on THAT home front!!
AND I'm looking forward to the quilt show coming up!

Realtor.com is a great site to view homes for sale. Just type in the place and any listed will have info and pics. I just did Yuma Az and over 400 came up for sale. I search all over the country lol. Dee
ReplyDeleteI will definitely look that up Dee. Thank you!!
DeleteI'm sorry Cooper is still a bit under the weather. Praying he gets better soon.
ReplyDeleteHopefully you can rest some today.
Frances:)
I keep hoping and praying for that!!
DeleteDo you know the LOA/HOA monthly fees. Looks like a nice park, not that we are going to move there...
ReplyDeleteMom ended up in the hospital, Sutter Roseville, Monday morning. Turns out she has Bronchitis, which is good news. It took over 14 hours to get her into a room....the hospital has been hit hard with flu cases. She will probably be released tomorrow.
Yes HOA fees, but not too bad for all the benefits they provide. So sorry to hear about your Mom. I've heard the flu is hitting hard right now. Prayers for her recovery.
DeleteI like both homes, but the second one could be my pick so far. Price? Furniture included? Hopefully Cooper keeps feeling better!
ReplyDeletePrices for these small ones run from $200-300K. Usually everything is included.
DeleteI like the second home too.Obviously room for the rv beside it. I'm glad Cooper is a bit better, still praying for the little guy. Um, I won't be walking no 10,000 steps or probably anything close to it when you arrive, so get all you can in now! haha
ReplyDeleteHahaha too funny Patsy. You were the one who got me walking so MUCH!!
DeleteMy neighbor called it the Green Store. I've never been to it. I guess I should have!
ReplyDeleteIt has a lot of outdated stuff I would never buy, but the other stuff is like $1- $3 dollars. VERY cheap!! Fresh veggies too, as well as lots of frozen products.
DeleteSorry Cooper is having a hard time. Will trust he is on the mend,
ReplyDeleteand you will have better days,
Good news about Kitters !

Sadly, he is not on the mend, so decisions had to be made.
