Arizona Knows How To Rain!

I was really hoping for sunny warm weather, but it was not to be, at least for any length of time.  Rain came down in buckets with so much thunder and lightning, I didn't even take my camera outside.  There's no use tempting fate holding a big piece of metal in your hands.
Lucky for me, the girls loved lunch.  Even down to the already prepped Mexican rice in a bag.  I don't remember the name, but you know those pre-cooked meats in a black container with a sleeve over them?  It was just like that and pretty darn tasty!

The pie?  The entire thing vanished in a flash.  It's good to NOT have leftovers for once.

I spent the next couple of hours waiting for my brick/paver guy to show up for a walkway estimate.  He cancelled and rescheduled for Thursday when MY HUSBAND would be home.  He mentioned that part at least three times.  OH YES, he'll be here!!!  (snicker snicker)

I stopped in at the Chance house where Dan has been painting ... yes, the entire outside of the house and garage.  It looks so darn nice, I feel bad about the looks of mine.  One of these days after I get everything else fixed up .........

So he says .... have you heard about the new hamburger joint in town?  If anyone knows about burgers, it's Dan Chance.  He can smell out a good burger clear across Tucson.  Here's the place to go ... DIVINE BOVINE!  I saw them building this at the end of last year.  My stomach was already full to the brim with beef and pie.  Heck yeah!!!  Let's go!!!
I'm here to tell you, it was the best burger I've had in my entire life.  I kid you not!  Just look at the size of that thing!!  These plates are larger than a desert plate.  Is that not the bomb???
It was so huge that Patty and I split one bacon cheeseburger.  OH MY!!!  The beef was cooked perfectly medium, just a little pink, and was the juiciest hamburger I've ever eaten.  The bacon, the sauce ... I just can't say enough about it.  You HAVE to go here if you are in the area.  If you're a beer drinker, so much the better because they have lots of it.
On a whim, I ordered sweet potato fries, while Patty and Dan had their regular crispy tasty morsels of perfection.   I could eat an entire house full of these fries and yes, I ate every one.
I was completely stuffed and miserable as we left.  The weather did not change.  It was raining when we went in and raining when we left.  But lookie here!!!  Do you see PIE SHOP?  The Back Dough (how cute is that?) is apparently owned by Bread and Beyond and is right behind their restaurant at the back door!  Lucky for me, they were closed, but I spoke those famous words ..... I'LL BE BACK!!!
Once home, the kids and I relaxed on the couch for all of thirty minutes before lightning struck and thunder shook the house.  The dogs went bananas!!!  That was a little too close for comfort.  I so wanted to get some pictures, but decided I better stay inside.  It rained so loud it was like I was under a tin roof.  It never lasts for long, but boy does it drop some water!!  Arizona truly knows how to rain.

Today, I'm still trying to contact the RV cover guys who never answer their phone (they must know it's me), and check out my rig for leaks from the rain.  Lastly, I'm Costco bound to find something this finicky dog will eat!!!

  1. Tell the Paver guy where to go and get someone else. You're paying the bill he talks to you.
Definitely not wise being a Lightning Rod.
That burger is definitely big enough for two.
Maybe the RV Cover Guy is out of business for not answering his phone.
    Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time.

  2. The burger looked like something I would love. Interesting place so I searched it. Appears to be only in Tucson. The menu made me laugh when I saw you could get an extra patty for $3.

    1. Extra patty for $3? That's crazy, except they are really huge patties!

  3. Holy crap! That burger looks amazing!! I would have to split one as well. Exactly how does one's mouth go around that???
Good luck with the pavement and the cover guy.
Now - getting down to business. The wedding must be in a day or two, what should I wear?? :D

    1. That restaurant is in Tucson Elva, about midway. There are some great places to eat here.

  5. I think the prepared meat in a tray is Del Real. We eat a lot of that, especially the green chili pork.

These guys did our driveway, and several other houses in the neighborhood. We only got one bid, so I don't know if he's expensive or not. They do good work, however.

    1. Ahhh thank you Allison for the name. The rice was really good. As to the brick paver guy, I think it's the same company.

    1. Looks like we are good on the rain. Everything is going to green up nicely. As to the Husband, I guess they only want to talk to the money guy! LOL

  7. Glad we only got the rain with no lighting and thunder.
Burger looks delicious, sweet potato fries are Tom's favorite, add beer and a pie place. I am thinking we cannot go wrong. What century do you think the brick/layer guy is living in? Have fun!

    1. From his accent, the brick guy was Spanish or Mexican, so that answers that question! The fries were probably the best I've eaten.
