Good Morning friends! We have survived yet another day in sunny California. Today we are freezing. I'm not sure when 59 degrees got so cold, but it's chilly! I actually had to put a coat on to take Mr. Cooper outside. I'm definitely not complaining since the forecast is for 92 degrees, each of the next six days.
June 6 started off nice enough ... a freezing breeze and a nice nap for the kid. Oh if I could only sleep like he does!! The best news ever ... he's not scratching.
There were lots of things on the To-Do List, but I just could NOT get motivated. I checked the plants to find every single zucchini had died of blossom end rot. The plant looks gorgeous, but the fruit, not so much. I may have to try that one again.
As for the others, they are hanging in there. The bell peppers look a little worse for wear, but everything else is at least growing for the moment. I pretty much procrastinated on every other back yard project.
We went for a walk, but it was short lived. I think Cooper's shoulder hurt from the shot, so we didn't get much past the driveway before returning to the house. Well this is exciting!!!
It seems when I have an event in the late afternoon, I lose all motivation to do anything. It was lodge night ... meaning I get a great meal while dressed uncomfortably in a skirt and high heels. So why in the world did I get out the vacuum??
I guess I wanted to see just how good it would work when I was actually trying to CLEAN the floors. I admit, it's a little heavy and hard on my stiff hand, but I was determined. For the THIRD time I vacuumed the sewing room. This time, like I really meant it.
I was shocked ... SHOCKED I tell you ... when I dumped the bin. Apparently my very expensive Dyson Animal has done NOTHING over the last ten years. Either that, or the previous owner NEVER vacuumed. How could this be? There's enough dirt there to grow an entire garden!
Since I was on a roll, I worked on my bedroom with fairly new carpet. It was the SAME! I'm just amazed at the amount of dirt my old vacuum did NOT pick up. I feel like I have a new lease on life! My old Dyson get's a D- and my new Shark gets an A+++. It even cleaned right up to the baseboards, though it doesn't fit under the bed.
My review ... a GOLD STAR from someone who hates to vacuum.
What about the Elks Lodge dinner? It was Merced County night, and like any government, they are cheap, so we had chicken fried steak. I LOVE IT! Mashed potatoes, our amazing gravy, yummy corn and a perfectly cooked biscuit. I'd show you a picture, but I ate the whole thing in one sitting.
The meeting was fairly short and sweet with no complaints. I had my accounting armor on and my lips sealed, just in case. The good news ... I won a $10.00 card towards lunch or dinner. I'll take it!
Today should be another fun filled day with an appointment at Bank of America. Yup I'm STILL trying to get those signatures changed so I can dump this albatross. They called to be sure I was going to show up and asked why I needed an appointment. Gee ... on their appointment screen, I answered that question. Didn't you read it?
She asked again. It's to change signatures on the account. Okay she said, be sure to bring in all four people with you. There was a long silence before I stated "I have all the paperwork". Oh no, that won't work. You have to bring them in with you.
After another long pause while I bit my tongue ...... I said "I'll be in at 11:30" and I hung up on her. Soooooo this should be yet another FUN day fighting with this ridiculous bank!!
Before you have a conniption fit with your Dyson Do a suction test There’s a small canister, type filter, In the filter design to catch the small particles Sometimes, too much dirt and debris can impede the airflow and reduce suction power. 👉👉Clogged filters: 👈👈As your filter accumulates more dust, this limits the airflow, which in turn decreases the suction power.
ReplyDeleteYou are right. There is no suction. I took everything apart, cleaned it all, and it still does not work. Besides that, I spend most of the time bent over, trying to get it to drag around corners and lifting it because it constantly gets caught up in the cord. The upright is MUCH easier to use and store.
DeleteGlad your vacuum is working.
ReplyDeleteChicken fried steak yum!!
Happy Saturday!
Frances:)
I love this new vacuum. It's so much easier to use, and I don't fight with it at all!!
DeleteChicken Fried Steak, mashed potatoes and gravy is a winner in my book!!! I have always ordered that at the Harris Ranch restaurant on I-5. It's the best and I too would have cleaned my plate.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to remember that ... Harris Ranch.
DeleteYep, went through the same CRAP with B of A with the library...ended up pulling our CDs out of there and moved to the local bank...
ReplyDeleteThey are just not fun to work with.
DeleteWow that was a lot of dirt, also we have been having some pretty cold days here with temps starting at 5C and rising to 16C which is 41F to 60F
ReplyDeleteOh gosh Joanne ... bring on the blankets!!!
