Why Did The Roadrunner Cross The Road?

I could never be someone who lives in an RV park ... never EVER!!  The sites are too close together, as I listen to the roar of a jet engine that is the heater next door.  RV parks can be very entertaining however, like the guy on the other side who took three times to back in, then pulled forward and back three more times in the exact same position, never moving over even two inches.  I would say it was his wife's fault, but she was standing in FRONT of the rig.

Oh well, c'est la vie!!  That's what was so great about the Saguaro SKP Park ... you could park THREE rigs in each site they were so wide!!  I never did hear any of my neighbors!

I was up early trying to zip up the motorhome so I could get on the road, when I discovered the office doesn't open until 8:00.  Electricity is paid separate, so I tried to relax and get in my zen mode.  I received two warnings yesterday about high winds and severe fire weather, so getting an early start on my 30 mile drive was imperative.

While I waited, I spotted a roadrunner sneaking around the back of my neighbor's casita.  I ran outside with my camera and quietly snuck up on him as he crossed the road.  I love how their tail flips up in the air when they stop.  He hesitated for a minute or so as I tried to get closer.
Next thing I know, he turns and runs back across the road to a bush.  He did that twice before I could see why.  Although I couldn't get a picture, Mrs. Roadrunner was sitting under the bush, not willing to move.
After a little coaxing, both finally ran across the road and into the desert.  I love these guys!!  I saw lots of them around the park, but these were the first pictures I could get.
With my bill finally paid ... my Bill was pretty skinny at $24 ... I headed off into the sunny but overcast Arizona desert back to the Pima County Fairgrounds.  I mean really ... even the overpasses in Arizona are beautiful!!
Being it was Sunday with no road work going on, I made the trip in a quick 25 minutes.  If you don't keep your speed up, those 75 mph trucks will run you over.
By 9:00 I was sitting on the couch with a cup of coffee reading about the life and times of Doc Holliday.  Interesting story!!  By 12:30, the winds began to pick up to a hairdo raising 30 mph.  Not so interesting was all the loads of laundry I did before heading off to the Chance Ranch for dinner.

Ugly steaks, smashed potatoes, yummy cauliflower casserole and salad, followed closely by chocolate peanut butter ice cream pie!!  It doesn't get any better than that!!

I've been running and doing for so long, I think I'll just veg out for the next couple of days.  There are big wind storms coming into Arizona and snow hitting the hills of California, so I'll wait until the weather clears before heading back home.

I have mixed feelings about that.  I miss my house (the warm fireplace, the sewing machine, my new bedroom furniture) but I know that four days after I get home, I'll wish I was back on the road.  In the meantime, Doc Holliday has arrived in Tombstone and been arrested maybe six times for illegal gambling.

Life is good!!  It will be better when my neighbor turns his heater off!!

  2. Nancy don't give me a scare
The average price of gasoline in California is averaging 239 the price of gasoline in Atwater California varies from 207 low to 249 high
The average price of Diesel fhel in the state of California it's 249
The average price of diesel fuel at Atwood California is 209 low and 228 high
Those prices were quoted as of the last 18 hours
Here's my suggestion it's FREE download an app called gas buddy it keeps all the stations up to date it will allow you to check the prices of gasoline And diesel fuel in a specific radius area that you are in now
If you wish to check a particular town or state enter that in or the ZIP Code for the area that you're going you'll get it instantly some of those prices are based on the last five minutes that people post It
If you find that the price of that gasoline has gone up or down if that be the caseas Also on that app you can enter in the correct amount on gas buddy you could change it to the proper fuel price setting and it will show instantly
And Mr. Nick can get gas at 169 in Orlando low or yes 176
    or 177 high today

    1. I read it on the internet, what can I say. I have Gas Buddy, just never use it. Most times you can't get into the station with a motorhome.
