I usually have to run both exhaust fans in the ceiling to keep some kind of air movement. I turned both of them off. I raised all the shades and opened a few windows. It's just so nice inside I can't stand it!! Yessiree ... I need another one in California ... or maybe just sell my house!! Ha!!
Time to get to work however ... no dilly dallying when it's just under 80 degrees outside. These three oleander bushes were completely to the ground. They made great cover for the quail, but also might make great cover for a snake who happened to figure out how to get in. In puppyville, that's not good.
My flat kitty? She makes Cooper bark and growl almost every time he goes out! It's hilarious ... and made of metal!!
Suddenly I got a flood warning ... not WATCH, but WARNING! What? The sun's out ... how can that be? I checked the radar screen. YIKES!!
By the time I put away the rake and trimmers, big drops began to fall. I'm not sure where it came from since there were still no clouds overhead. The winds picked up something fierce. It was a good test as I ran back to the motorhome to see just how much the cover would move. These covers are a little bit flexible, moving about 1/2 inch at the top in this really heavy wind.
I didn't make it back inside before the rains came!! WOW ... monsoon rains here always surprise me with the amount of water they drop. I kept a close eye on the new construction as I grabbed a towel. I was soaking wet. I expected to see the cover fly away like in the Wizard of Oz, but it never budged.
All that rain lowered the temperature down to a lovely 72 degrees this morning. Rain is predicted for the next eight days. I'm loving it. There should be lots of nice lightning pictures coming up!!
In the meantime, all those beautiful black clouds made for a magnificent sunset!!!
I would sell the house in CA while there are still people there with $$$$ to buy it.
ReplyDeleteIt would definitely be cheaper for me all around. But it's my dream house!! Hard to let go.
DeleteI agree about selling the house in CA. Two houses, double the worries, more maintenance and taxes. Just think of all the quilts you could make with that money. You could even buy a Long-Arm.
ReplyDeleteWise to keep the shrubs trimmed a little higher.
Glad the RV Cover is working out and standing up.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
Ooh I didn't think of that ... I really COULD afford that long arm if I sold the house! Hmmmm
DeleteThe cover is a blessing. Beautiful sunset....
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a blessing, as are my friends!!
DeleteWith all that sealant, I'll bet there was not even a drop that got through the roof...through the open sides and end yes, but not from the top.
ReplyDeleteIt was dry as a bone!! Eventually I will run the sides down lower.
DeleteVery nice looking RV cover . I was wondering why the paneling on the sides stopped where it did . Some thing to do with wind ? I know a lot of people have sold out of California and moved to Idaho . Vern in Boise Id.
ReplyDeleteVern, it was a money thing. Those extra panels would have cost quite a bit more. I can order more and install them myself.
DeleteSelling the house in California is one way to get rid of the skunks.
ReplyDeleteHa!!! Linda, you are right! That would be a GREAT plus!!
DeleteWoohoo!! The cover is awesome! I don't doubt for a minute that it is cooler inside the RV.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're getting rain and at least you have a birds-eye view of your new investment.
Patsy, the difference is more than you can imagine!!
DeleteThe cover is just way too awesome! We had one a lot like it at our first property in Nevada (Winnemucca). We marveled that it only swayed a bit in some really tough winds! Congrats once again! Those storms remind me of what we get here, amazing how quickly they come, dump the water and the winds and then gone til the next one! Enjoy the beautiful sunsets! :)
ReplyDeleteThe first big test for the RV port! We had a few tense moments the first time the high winds hit out new shed, I bet you had the same feeling and are relieved that that test is over.
