Ninety nine degrees was the magic number of the day for what was supposed to be a leisurely Sunday of healing up. But when you get an invitation for breakfast ... you go. Mr. Cooper and I were up early as usual, heading out on our morning walk.

Just Call Me Alice
Good morning my friends! It's a good thing you can't see me this morning because I'm pretty much a wreck. Just call me Alice ... you know, from the TV series ALICE? Florence Jean Castleberry played a waitress in that show for several years. I think she had it much better since she didn't work as hard, or as long as I did last night. It's going to take at least TWO DAYS to recover from this one!
It started out nice enough ... a little walk with the kid in the hot morning air. We are currently sitting at 71 degrees at 5 am. YIKES!

FOODIE NEWS
Ooohhweeee it's been a hot time in the old town! 95 degrees wasn't so bad for the first hour, but after that, it got pretty old. Here's the old gal and her dog checking out the morning's vegetable cache. I'm pretty sure I've never eaten this many tomatoes in my entire LIFE!

It Was Shocking I Tell You!
It was a SHOCKING day on Wednesday, and that was BEFORE I took my truck in for her checkup. I walked outside to see these golden rings on my fence. What? It looked like someone spray painted these square circles. How weird is that?
Upon further inspection, though it took some detective work, I realized it was reflections from my four bedroom windows, set high up on the side of the house. How weird is that? I thought maybe I was being invaded by aliens!!

Truck Goes To Doctor!!
One quick picture this morning. I'm on my way to get and oil and fuel filter change in my truck. They are early birds like me ... my appointment is at 7:00 am. That means I have to get my morning act together!
This is what happens when the temps hit 95 and you forget to check the zucs every day. They get HUGE! Same with the yellow squash! One second it's too small and the next it's TOO BIG! It was actually quite tasty smothered in cheese and bread crumbs, baked in the oven. I took your advice Barb!

Jammin' Pasta!!!
Someone turned the OVEN on. It's not the convection oven just yet, but it might as well be. We are up to 95-98 every single day for the next ten days. This is definitely NOT fun, and tends to keep me locked inside the house. How uninspiring is that?
I made the rounds of the garden once again. Gosh, this vegetable stuff has become WORK! I'm not sure how it's going to turn out with the Early Girls. There are now eight tomatoes on a plant barely 18" high. All beautiful green of course. I'm still waiting for that first lovely sweet fresh tomato flavor.
Lucky for me, the squash came to a screeching halt, but I couldn't figure out why. It seems that somehow the lawn sprinkler got turned around and was blasting them every morning. How did THAT happen? All fixed now, so maybe they will recover.
I hung out all morning sewing the top to yet another quilt, before hearing my driveway alarm. Hurray! The next three boxes of jam jars have arrived. I know you are getting tired of this JAM thing. SO AM I. The next time I'm offered a second box, the answer is NO. I actually thought that crate would make ONE batch ... not two!! So here we go on batch number THREE.

WE HAVE JAM!!!
I bet this picture looks familiar. That's because every single morning, we HAVE to sit on the couch together. He follows me around like ... well ... a puppy dog until I sit down and he gets to snuggle. I can't say NO.
