BINGO GAMES and F-BOMBS!!

We are currently hanging in there at "pleasant", but will soon be in the "goodness gracious" and "SHEESH" mode.  In other words, all air conditioners on deck.  Our low 90's has turned into 99-100 every day for the next week.  We can only hope and pray the weather guessers are WRONG once again.

The absolute worst thing about this warm spring weather?  It grows weeds like ..... well ..... weeds.  Good grief!  My back yard rock pile area looks like the rest of my lawn.  I have never EVER seen it that bad.  That means I had to get out the big weed sprayer fit for a giant and try to abate them, if only a bit.

I hate spraying weeds.  They just do not seem to make a backpack sprayer with a nozzle that works.  Though the wind was a little breezy, I sprayed away for over an hour.  Truly, I need to pay more attention to this matter.  It just seems my get up and go, got up and went to Texas.

SO .... let's get up and go to BINGO!!

My no-worries-I'll-set-up-everything modus operandi has also disappeared.  On purpose.  I hung out upstairs with one of my buddies while we scarfed down not one, but TWO bags of popcorn. Oh yes, we have a popcorn machine in the bar.  It's that AMAZING movie theater stuff and it's FREE!!!

Add to that, we all got bowls of refied beans, salsa, cheese sauce and chips to munch.  Who needs dinner after THAT!

And so here we are, selling these games at the table.  The blue ones on the bottom are the main bread winners and cost $20 for the first two (required) and $5.00 for each additional one.  There are twelve games in that packet, each one paying $250 to the winner.  Some people buy and play EIGHT of these packets at once, spread out across an entire table.  I don't know how they do that!!

The green sheets are called 6-4-9's, meaning you have to get a block of four in the middle, and either a block of six or nine at the top and six or nine at the bottom.  You have three chances across the page to get that.  It's hard and confusing, so I never recommend newbies buy that one for $2.00.

The blue border above it is called double action.  You have two chances to get a number in every square, but you need three rows across to win this one.  The small orange and blue ones are two more games, called coverall speed.  Every square has to be marked out and they are called fast.  There's more, but these pay the most money.

Last night we had another huge crowd of 143.  People who have never played before are coming out in droves for the 1199 games we play.  You pay $2.00 to get a stamp on your hand.  A number is pulled from a hat.  If you win ANY bingo with THAT NUMBER, you win our pot and another one for $1,199.  That's why we are having the crowds now, because two of those are available at the moment, neither of which has been won in about 6 weeks.

If you are lucky, and some people are, you can take home upwards of $4000 a night.  Point in case, we have a volunteer who plays at an Indian Casino in the mountains.  He came in to volunteer last night after a day of playing slot machines with $10,000 in his pocket.  No kidding ... you can win big if you have the money to lose!!

I on the other hand am thrilled when all I win is three tomatoes.  That's them hanging out in my purse.  We have some farmers that bring goodies into the bar for anyone who gets there early enough to partake.  I partook of three big fat yummy red ones that probably won't last the day.

At any rate, where are the spears and flaming torches?  Oh they came out in full force on this night.  Because I'm not setting everything up, the sound system had not been correctly positioned for the best effects.  A member (previous volunteer) was playing bingo in the lunch room side and could not hear because our Bingo Kitchen is right there.  As you can imagine, kitchens are noisy.

He could not hear the caller he said, and started yelling to shut up.   The kitchen help yelled, everyone yelled and in an instant F-bombs were being thrown around like candy.  Oooweeee it got hot in there!!  Spears, flaming torches, daggers, boiling acid ... it all came out in spades.

I stayed sat right where I was.  He was told to leave, but the King came along and said he could stay.  That didn't make the players OR the kitchen crew happy.  I stayed far far away!!!  It's not my job!!!

The rest of the night went okay until one game had 13 winners.  They each got $19.00.  Not the big haul they were looking for.  I had to scarf up 52 one dollar bills.  The good thing is I got almost all of those back in the way of donations.  If you don't donate when you win, you won't win again.  That's their bingo playing rules, which makes for a little more $$$ for us.

That was it ... the night was over.  I balanced the infernal machine and snuck out the back door once again.  I'm beginning to like this new attitude of mine.  No mess, no fuss, just disappear!!

On the way home, I finally did see the planets shining brightly in the sky.  Alas, I was too tired to drag out the tripod and big camera, so here's what it looks like on my App.  That's Venus in front, Jupiter behind and Mercury to the right.  It's just fascinating to me that they never run into each other.

And so another Bingo day is in the books.  I have some major accounting to do today involving IRS and State Taxes.  That's not fun for anyone!!  I'm sure that will require a nap on the couch, so that's where I'll be hanging out with Mr. Cooper and Kitters.  No quilting can be done until I'm fully rested and of right mind.

HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE!!!
