Sausage Perfume

I smell like sausage again!  Not that it's a bad thing, but all the dogs and cats in the neighborhood followed me home yesterday.  I spent the early morning hours cooking at the Elks RV Park.  It's a rather interesting job, taste testing difference brands of sausage, depending on who went to the store.  Hormel wins hands down, in case you were wondering.

I usually spend the first hour cutting up fresh fruit ... watermelon, cantaloupe, apples ... but this time I couldn't find any in the fridge.  When the coordinator finally showed up, I asked where the fruit was.  It seems the huge 100-person birthday party for a one year old, absconded with the fruit.  Yup ... they cut it up and ate it all.  You KNOW they knew they didn't bring the fruit ... that it wasn't theirs to eat ... but they ate it anyway.  How rude is that??  They left the apples and grapes however, which when added to canned fruit cocktail, made an acceptable fruit cup ... sort of.

Personally, I think 8:00 am is a little too early for breakfast, but by 8:30, they were streaming in to partake of fluffy scrambled eggs, sausage, Krusteaz pancakes to die for, along with fruit cups, orange juice, coffee and a bloody mary if you so desired.  No one went away hungry.

After lots of fun and laughter, I headed home to finish packing, trying to get all my i's dotted and t's crossed.  It's always a day of trepidation and nerves, but since I again won the UK Lottery, I should be good to go.

As the sun finally set, I watched a great show of pink puffy clouds slide across the sky.  Now THAT's a sendoff!
I watched the sad news about Orlando Florida ... when is our country going to do something about these terrorist attacks?  It's not the guns in my book, it's the people who use them for destruction.  It just goes to show that even if you are on the FBI's watch list, the bad guys can still get access to weapons, no matter what laws you pass.  My heart goes out to those families who lost loved ones.
I watched the San Francisco Giants WIN against their bitter rivals the Dodgers, although I discovered the rivalry is mostly between the fans, not the players.  In between innings, I watched the San Jose Sharks lose the Stanley Cup, though they fought hard.  They played great games, this being the first time they ever made it to the finals.  Good show Sharks!!
So today as the nerves creep in like waves in the ocean, I'll be off to Sacramento for that recall repair. Here's to an easy drive with no traffic, road construction or delays!!

  1. Reminds me of the guy who ate my lunch because no one in the shop claimed it. I suggested he might want to think twice before he pisses off the person who writes his paycheck.
