Nerves of Steel!!!

On the final day of the rally, we went to one last model railroad at the fairgrounds.  I admit I didn't pay attention to anything he said ... I was just having fun watching the train go around and admiring the buildings, most of which were built by hand.  The details were amazing!!

After waiting an hour for the rain to let up, and checking the weather report for snow, we headed East on Hwy 20 to Hwy 80 toward Reno.  I'm sure Dan picked this highway to prime me for Alaska!  Lots of hills and curves ... then we hit Hwy 80 and SNOW!!!  (But not on the road)  I'm going to have nerves of steel by the end of this trip!!  But right now they are more like jelly!!!
A few miles later, we pulled into Boomtown KOA park.  After lunch at Bistro 2100 where Dan had a burger at LEAST 7 inches across ... we headed out into the desert hunting for Cabelas.  Dodging RV's and trucks, skirting around the snakes, over the fences and boulders, we arrived at our destination.
Amazingly, once inside, we ran into an African safari and of course joined in.  It's dangerous out on the plain .....
Around every corner we took our lives in our hands ....  we just ducked behind a tree before this big guy zeroed in on us ...
Jessie and Cooper could have taken this rhino I'm sure ...
There were life and death situations at every turn ...
FINALLY ... we made it through.   WHEW!!!!  Tired and thirsty, we found the local watering hole before backtracking to our desert RV home.
Praying for sun ........................
