Good News, Not So Good News

It seems life is always fraught with good news and not so good news.  Here was the good news from yesterday.  We went to the grocery store, got a big senior discount (only because I asked) and I got toilet paper.  It's the little things in life!!

We also got bits and pieces for Hawaiian Haystacks.  Anyone heard of that before?  Me either.

This is a Hawaiian dish Cindy ate when she was living there.  The HAY is perfectly cooked rice.  The STACK is any or ALL of the above that you wish to add.  As you can see, I took a little of everything.  Not shown is a chicken gravy mix that went over the rice first.  What a fabulous dinner!!

On the other hand, into every life some rain must fall.  Mr. Cooper is still sick and I can't stand it.  If he is miserable, I'm miserable and I can't sleep at all.  Therefore this mornings decision is to head to Indio for the night.  If Cooper has a miraculous recovery, I will go to Quartzsite.  If not, I will be heading on home to take him to my Vet.

In my eyes, I have no choice.  My Cooper always comes first!!  I'll let you know tomorrow where I'm going.

  1. I'm so sorry Cooper isn't on the mend. Praying for you both, no fun at all to have a sick pet.
    Be safe out there.

  2. Sending prayers for Cooper to feel better soon. I understand you wanting to get him to his Vet, I would do the same thing and have left camping before heading straight for Vet for my little one. I hope today brings you both a better day!

  3. Prayers for you and Cooper...

My first wife was very picky about what she eats. We made that dish but called them Stacky Uppies. Endless amount of toppings that you can put on the chicken gravy over rice (each person has their choice to add or not). Cheese was always the first for me so that it would melt. Some of my other favorites include chopped black olives, diced pineapple, diced tomatoes, crispy fried onions, peanuts, chopped bacon, chopped avocados...oh, the list goes on and one.

  5. I am so sorry to hear about Cooprr. But, like you. Our pups always came first no matter where we were at or what our plans were. I'm really hoping for good news from Indio.

  6. Does Penny have a vet in Yuma that you could take Cooper to? As he has been been feeling well for several days, perhaps it is best to get him checked out ASAP, especially at his age. Prayers continue. Take care.

  10. Oh, I am so sorry. Can you take him to a vet where you are or is it too much? Safe travels if you have to leave and I hope he gets better soon! xo
