The Elephant

Okay folks ... there's a BIG ELEPHANT in the room.  TRUMP TRUMPTED HIS BIG WIN.  I know there are some that are not as happy as I am.  It's okay ... I respect everyone's right to vote for whomever they want ... and I still want to remain friends.

As an accountant, I would much rather have a businessman in charge of the country than a politician.  Yes he's brash and rude, but didn't you like it when prices of everything were cheaper?  I watched for two hours as the news media dissected every state, city by city.

It wasn't about Kamala's lack of negotiation skills, nor her lack of interview skills, nor her sense of humor.   It was not the elite, or the college students, or the big cities that voted for Trump.  It was the grass roots folks who work hard to make this country what it is.  It was an electoral vote win and a popular vote win like none in our history.  You have to admit the people have loudly stated their discontent with the current government.

It WAS all about the economy and the border, and how bad it has gotten over the last four years.  States and cities that have never voted Republican, voted that way this year.  You can't expect voters to approve your terrible economic policies going forward when they haven't worked for four years.

I even watched The View for the first time EVER.  I've seen snippets of crazy women screaming and crying, saying horrible things about folks.  Today, probably for the first time, the one gal spoke up and said YES TRUMP WON.  I will accept that and do my best to work with them.  There was instant retaliation from a couple of the others because of her response.  That's a big part of the problem.

I'm positive there will NOT be massive deportations of hard working people (as CNN has said) who just want to become citizens and live a good life.  I'm positive there WILL be massive deportations of criminals, drug dealers, murderers and gangs back to Central America.  I'm all for that.

So far the stock market has stood up and applauded.  My bank account and I appreciate that.  I look forward to more good news in the days to come.  I'm sure Trump will be following in the footsteps of his predecessor with some Executive Orders that hopefully will result in manufacturing on American soil once again.  I'm tired of buying junk from China.

So PLEASE remain my friend regardless of who won the election.  Politics don't stack up to good friends, even a little bit.  Hopefully the days of pointing fingers, name calling and only saying bad things about the OTHER candidate are over.  After all, we ALL live in the same country.

DON'T WORRY, BE HAPPY ... that's my mantra for the day.  We might even see the end of some wars on the planet.  Oh ... and congratulations Nevada and Pennsylvania!  We've missed you

The ELEPHANT has now left the building, but there's no doubt, he'll be back.

  1. Mr. Ed said you knew I was going to chime in let me be the first to post
    Businessman, instead of a politician
Although Trump has never filed for personal bankruptcy, hotels and casino businesses of his have declared bankruptcy six times between 1991 and 2009 due to its inability to meet required payments and to re-negotiate debt with banks, owners of stock and bonds and various small businesses (unsecured creditors). That doesn’t even touch on the contractors, his attorneys and sub businesses that he used to own And you’re trusting him with the national treasury

For the first 234 years of the nation’s history, no American president or former president had ever been indicted. That changed in 2023. Over a five-month span, former President Donald Trump was charged in four criminal cases. Together, the indictments accused him of wide-ranging criminal conduct before, during and after his presidency. One of those indictments has now led to the first criminal conviction of a former president; the other three remain pending. While you’re at it, look at article 14. And review the videos of January 6.
Now how many staffers and lawyers been indicted how many staffers and lawyers are turning over evidence of wrongdoing how many lawyers have lost their license and disbarred that doesn’t sound like a good business man a business plan to the average citizen
In the first four years of president business, what is the accomplished if the election was lost? Where is the evidence? 60 state courts turned him down.
Have you ever once heard him say I was wrong ??? but I’ll make it right??
Have you ever fact checked what he states
Donald Trump has been accused of rape, sexual assault, and sexual harassment, including non-consensual kissing or groping, by at least 25 women since the 1970s.
And charged with and convicted of sexual assault .
as well as being a good friend of Jeffrey, Epstein ? check the flight records

That’s to say nothing of the fact that he’s going to go on a vendetta and become a (I’ve never heard of a one day )dictator, so that remains to be seen. So if you haven’t read Project 2025 if you got a pair of pantyhose, you better hang onto them. It’s obvious you’ve never read the goals of Mussolini, Stalin, Castro Saddam, Hussain, Hitler. marxist, Socialism leads to communism
Why would your president want to take a page out of their history to repeat? ???
Now I’m not a religious person, by any sense of the imagination, but I think if I get slapped on the cheek more than once i’m not about to turn the other …… I do have a lot more but … end of rant

    1. Good grief ... you wrote a BOOK!! I'm not going to argue with you Ed. I'm pretty sure the constitution signers were considered felons also. Most of it involved write offs on his taxes. Yes, he was ACCUSED of lots of things, none of which were proven or on film, as was Bidens fondling and kissing children. See? It goes both ways. Does that means either is guilty? No. If he was on Epstein's flights, you can bet the FBI who has the flight records would have already filed charges. Do I think he's going to be a dictator? No, but Kamala was raised by a father that was Marxist and even wrote a book about it. Please turn the other cheek and enjoy the cheaper fuel and food prices coming around the bend.

  3. Well said Nancy. I watched on election night as the voting was taking place and the breakdown of how states, cities and rural areas were voting.
One thing that stuck out to me was how commentators were saying that we need to stop pointing the finger, agree to disagree but still get along.
It is something that we do not have north of the border. Yes we have our own problems and I also hope a change will come with our next election.

    1. I know you have more of the same problems Bill. I agree to disagree, but boy the Democrats aren't having any of it. They have gone from blaming white "sexist" voters, to "dumb" hispanic voters who will be deported (probably not) to now turning on their own and blaming Biden for not leaving sooner. If they would only look at their policies, they would figure it out.

  4. I'm with you on Trump. Harris is not ready to be president, she was pushed into the race. Praying things do get better, this country needs it. Biden has made a huge mess and it's going to be hard to straighten out things.

    1. Honestly, had they let Biden run, they just might have won. It also would have helped if they actually stated what their policies were and how they were going to fix the economy.

    1. True ... we all knew THAT wasn't going to happen. Now we have to deal with the expense of deporting millions of bad guys. I am so FOR anyone who wants to live and work here. I am so AGAINST drug dealers, murderers, criminals and gangs.

  11. Ditto most of the above especially Dave Burdick. You can see from my Facebook that one young lady threw out wrong information about health care. She was asked to explain her comment and she disappeared. So much for having a conversation.

    1. I saw that. Makes you think it's because they knew they were throwing out wrong info, but continued to do it anyway.

  12. So far you are the only one I have come across who is happy he won, I do not like the man and he says some really weird and stupid things and I always get a creepy feeling when he talks about women. All that aside what type of president he will be this time around only time will tell

    1. I agree Joanne ... his boastful mouth gets him in trouble all the time. I don't care about his mouth ... I just care that already Hamas has declared a cease-fire and Putin is talking about Ukraine. Hopefully more good things will follow with a strong and world respected President.

  13. I do not care who voted for whom. If you're my friend, you're my friend. This would certainly be a dull world if everybody agreed with me. But I sure hope we can learn to get along.

  14. We voted for Trump and are very happy with the results. I have always said we need a business man to run the country not a politician or lawyer. They couldn’t run a lemonade stand as we can see from past results. Trump is a billionaire and is from New York so he has a right to be arrogant and loud. Aren’t all New Yorkers loud? 🤣 I have strong hope for RFK Jr to fix our food. Good job Nancy!
