Fog Fog SUN!!!!

There's nothing like trying to remember absolutely everything you have to do before leaving on a trip.  I'm pretty sure I left my all time favorite gingersnap cookies at home.  In the fridge?  In the freezer?  I've no idea, but I immediately made a plan to stop in Kingsburg on the way home next month to pick up another tin full.

Hopefully I got all the other important stuff.  After a nice hug and purr from Kitters, we took off.  It was pretty cold, so I turned the heater up.  It didn't help.  What the heck?

See that second hole on the right on the dash.  Apparently that is a vent and it was blowing cold air everywhere.  There are so many things on this rig, I don't even know what half of them are!

It was foggy the whole trip and traffic was really bad.  Gee, it's not even Christmas yet!

Thirty minutes out of town, I hit a Shell Station for fuel.  $4.69 was the price of the day, soon to be going up when they close down those refineries in California.

More fog and clouds as I cruised along ..... it just didn't want to give it up.  I even had to use the windshield wipers for about 20 miles.

At long last, SUN!!  YAY!!  At 3:00 in the afternoon, the warm sun was shining down on the orange trees.  Cooper and I grabbed a big plastic bag and went gathering.

This is just to show you how big some of them are ... and DELICIOUS!!  This is not your grocery store orange.  These are picked fresh right off the trees.  I got as many large ones as I could reach!

Back in the rig, Mr. Cooper and I are fighting for space.  It's a whole new routine, with me mostly spending time looking for things I KNOW I put in the rig, but can't find.

BUT LOOK!!!  When I checked in, I just happened to take a quick peek in their freezer.  Oh yeah ... this was dinner!!  I had a hard time not sharing with Cooper.

Here's the weird part.  I got here at 3:00 and I'm the only one in the park.  Surely this can't be.

Yup ... it's a ghost town.  That's a big surprise with all these free oranges!  Maybe it will fill up after Christmas.  It is usually packed this time of year.

Another surprise ... I turned on the Dish Network TV and it actually WORKED!  That's a miracle!  No calling their "techs" to send a signal.  It started right up.  You know what else?  My phone's Hotspot is working for this blog.  Miracle number two!!

On the other hand, it was a long cold night.  The heater ran all night long.  Hopefully it's not as chilly in Quartzsite!!

This morning I'm back on the road for a long one to Quartzsite.  See you when I arrive.
