I HATE THIEVES!!

The weather guessers finally got it right.  It wasn't a gully washer, but at 4:00 this morning some rain fell from the sky.  NICE!!  Although just enough to make it muddy everywhere, it's late this year and much needed.

Yesterday could have been better.  On Thursday I got the dreaded DING:  Did you just purchase a moneygram for $108.00?  Nope!

DING:  Did you just purchase a moneygram for $700.00?

DING:  Did you just purchase a money gram for ANOTHER $108.00?

DING:  $55.25 was charged for the PURCHASE of said moneygrams!!

No, NO and NOOOOO!  I called the bank.  Sure enough, someone in Dallas Texas was purchasing moneygrams right and left to send to Mexico .... on MY dime!  How in the world they got my card number is beyond me.  I haven't used it in over two months, nor have I been hacked on my phone or my computer, neither of which have that card number IN them anyway.

The only thing I can think of is I used it at Phil's Fish Market for that clam chowder.  Guess I won't be doing THAT again!  Now I wait four days for the new card to be delivered.  The worst part ... I just FINALLY memorized that card number and now I have to start all over again!  DARN THIEVES!!!

Thankfully, the rest of the day was uneventful, though apparently they tried three more times. By then, the card had been cancelled.  I'll have to keep checking to be sure they don't stick their fingers into anything else.

With nothing else to do, I whipped up some spaghetti with meat sauce for the freezer and found two lone potatoes hiding in the drawer.

Not wanting to be wasteful, I forced myself to make not one, but TWO small casseroles of you-guessed-it ... scalloped potatoes. They too will go in the freezer ... okay, so ONE will go in the freezer because I'm eating the second one.

The only other constructive thing I did all day was hang up this folding bag in the rig.  I took your advice and attached a ring to it, which fits perfectly over the hook.  I love those command strip hooks.

Oh I did some exciting things like the laundry, but only because I forgot that load of sheets in the washer the day before, and had to not only rewash everything, but sanitize the washing machine.  I hate it when I do that.

The rest of the evening was spent cuddling with Cooper.  It's my favorite pastime ... and you know once you sit down, you are not allowed up for at least two hours.  It's the rules!!

OH DARN ... it's supposed to rain most of the morning and into the afternoon, so I guess all that outside work I was going to do has to be put off to another day.  Coop and Jonathan think that is just fine!!  And lucky me .... I actually get TWO days off with absolutely NOTHING on my schedule!!  Woohoo!!

Here's to a wonderful weekend for everyone!!!

    1. I'll get a new card, it will just take time. Luckily they sent a notice to me on this one or it might have gone on for a long tine.

  2. I worry about those credit cards too...so far, we have been fine. I always hold one credit card back that we never use but always carry just in case. I use Discover for nearly all in person purchases and online purchases except for Amazon. Try to use cash whenever I am in a spot that I trust running my card. I HATE it when you are at a restaurant and they take your card to pay the bill...now days, they ALL should have the ability to scan the card at the table and hand it back to you. When they do have to take, I always ask what their name is as I give them the card, and then write the name into a note on my phone.

    1. Dave they do a lot of restaurants have the card scanners at the table or take the check up to the girl and keep it insight at all times if you look on the left side of your card, you’ll see a chip. If you have that chip you can tap and go it’s an encryption transaction pay the tip in cash

    2. It can be a problem Dave. That's what I did ... the chip tap and go .. and they still got it. Like you, I carry one extra card just in case.

  3. If thieves spent that much effort doing legal things they would be just as rich.
How do you know you were eating the ‘second’ casserole and not the first? Lol.

  4. Nothing worse than a getting a charge you didn't make on a credit card. I got charged 55.00 for false eyelashes one time. Lol
No trick or treaters here...we did get some rain yay!
    Happy Saturday!

  5. Dave's card was recentlt hacked. Get this, it was for $0.00. We figure they were testing to see if it was a good card. Same thing as you, cancel the card and wait for a new one. What a pain!

    1. That's exactly what they were doing. I've had that happen before too, but this time they hit it for $108 first, as kind of a test too I think. Glad it got caught.

  6. It always seems that a person has just used their cards someplace and it gets copied. That has cost us Four Cards.

    1. I'm always very careful at gas stations. They put scanners over where you insert your card. This time, I don't know how they did it.

  7. Bloody hell, having your card number stolen and used is no good, not something I have experienced and hope I never do. I do like the look of that hanging bag. I am starting to have trouble typing, reading and staying still. I keep making lots of mistakes

  8. Mr. Ed said the next time you use your card use the Tap-go contactless feature whether it be the grocery store or the gas station using that system does not reveal your credit card number. It’s an encrypted transaction with a different pin number every time So tap-go and you won’t have a problem

    1. Well that's what they say, but I'm really not sure HOW they got it. And gas stations don't have that feature.

  10. I agree with Mr.Ed,the tap & go feature is the best way to avoid unwarranted scanning-also my Bank advised to avoid using bank debit cards, instead always use a credit card. The credit company covers any illegal charges & avoids the thief from accessing your bank. Those scallop potatoes look scrumptious & now I'm hungry lol.All the best.

    1. I have had many credit card numbers stolen and used, but never a debit card. So what do you use at gas stations? Most stores around here do not have tapping, so that's a problem. I'll remember that when I'm out of town from now on.
