Here I am parked in beautiful downtown Yuma. The Palms really is a nice park with lots of amenities. There are many houses ... you can't really call them park models ... some with fabulous outdoor spaces. If I'm lucky, I'll find a map on how to get out before I leave. Yes, it's that big!!
No problem ... in we went to walk the gauntlet of "good morning ... you need a dentist? glasses?" No thank you as we walked a little faster to the pharmacy that seems to sell for a bit less. Wish I could tell you the name ... it's down the street from the multi-colored Algodones sign. My $65 meds cost me $15.
On the way out, we were surprised that the number of cars in the parking lot had quadrupled and they were coming in in a steady stream. Our timing was perfect. We didn't even see anyone as we handed over our passports. We were back home in less than one hour.
Time to hit the Marketplace for fabric. This place ... I could go broke here. Thirty yards later, much of it one third the price, and Nancy was a happy camper.
We made one more quick stop for a rug for my rig. Cooper has a hard time on the slick floor, so this will help him stay upright while chasing the ball. It will require either some sticky tape or a rug pad to keep it from slipping. Cooper was the happy camper this time.
The RV park has many shows, one of which was scheduled last night. I think this was the first in a long while. Cindy and Ray had tickets given to them, and with Cindy feeling under the weather, Ray and I walked to the concert.
Eric and the Dominoes were playing Eric Clapton music. If I remember right, I never cared for Clapton's music. We were escorted to our seats, not having to walk far at all since we were in the back row. That was fine with me ... anyone coughing would be in front of us!
The auditorium was about 3/4 full, mostly all us old folk!! It turned out the back row wasn't quite far enough back.
I hated to be a killjoy, but in 45 minutes I was almost deaf. Those guys really know how to play their instruments, but they should hire a roadie to fix the sound. I leaned over to Ray and screamed "you ready to go". I got a resounding YES!!
We were out the door, laughing out loud the entire way back, now knowing exactly why we were never Eric Clapton fans. Besides, it was past my bed time!!
Early this morning we are off to an RV park yard sale. That should be fun .... followed by the Yuma Quilt Show. MORE FABRIC to feed my obsession!!!!!
Sounds like Cindy was the lucky one. Eric probably turned up the sound for the elderly to hear😁 Love the color of your rug and have fun at the Quilt Show.
ReplyDeleteThats what I thought ... turn up the volume for the old folks. So all the old folks turned off their hearing aids!!
DeleteSo much material and so little time...lol I never quilted but I did sew clothes and stuff. I still have material in the storage unit just in case.😀 Pretty material!
ReplyDeleteThat's my mantra ... soooo much material!!!
DeleteThe rug is beautiful. Just within the last couple of days people have said the Mexican border soldiers checked their purses. So this is something very new. Elva
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing they are looking for guns. Honestly, no need in Algodones. Word is anyone who messes with the rich Americans funding their stores, disappears to never return!
DeleteBarb and I were just talking yesterday how we needed to find someone who was going to go to Los Algodones and mail us some med as we were not going to make it down there this year! I am going to mention it in my next post and see if anyone else is down that way.
ReplyDeleteWell darn ... I would have been happy to. Next time I'll contact you.
DeleteWe witnessed backpacks being checked but not my big bag of a purse when we went across. I guess the higher flow of traffic has tightened their sercurities.
ReplyDeleteNice rug, I'm sure Cooper is grateful! Gibbs scatters our two mats across the slippery floors, so fun to watch!
Can't beat the prices of our drugs at those pharmacies. :)
Maybe I look suspicious! LOL
DeleteWow..never a fan or not a fan of Eric Clapton, but those noise levels would have killed it for me! Beautiful fabric! Nice to get drugs so much cheaper! More fun today! Awesome!
ReplyDeleteI later talked to some people who sat in the front row. They kept their ears covered the entire time. Too bad the band didn't notice and turn it all down.
