Another Exciting Day In QuarantineLand

Oh my goodness ... if I have to sit on my butt for one more day I'm going to scream.  Mostly because my butt and back hurt so bad from sitting.  Just to try and help the situation, I took Cooper outside for a walk.  Not much of a walk really, since every two feet he has to mark his territory.  Lots of dogs roam loose in my neighborhood causing havoc when Jessie and Cooper see them out the window.

I finished up this little Civil War quilt just in time to begin anew on the "Duck" quilt.  In other exciting "quilt" news, I called my only local store, willing to beg to be let in for fabric purchase.  I've three huge quilts with NO backing.

It's a funny thing about this quarantine ... everyone is just trying NOT to lose their business.  Many people here do not have money nor food to feed their children.  They were thrilled I wanted to come by for something like 20 yards of fabric.  I'll be meeting up with them very soon.

Probably the most exciting time of the day, I drove all the way to the Post Office with my little yellow overflow card.  No one was wearing masks, but we all kept our distance.  In spite of the plastic hanging down, everyone touched everything, including the counter, the credit card machine and the plastic.  I mean really, can you just imagine how many people touched every piece of mail you get?  I wonder if people are remembering to sanitize the envelopes?

Anyway, I received this surprise ... a big box from FMCA.  It pays to be President!!  Not really, although it said I could keep these things for myself, I will be giving them away to new members, if we ever HAVE new members again.  There's two very nice mugs, a blue blanket that folds up into a package, two name tag holders (very nice ones) and a zipper bag.  Actually, the bag may work out nicely for carrying chocolate sauce to the ice cream social.  Just more stuff to carry in my rig.

At this point, I have more weight from FMCA rally stuff in the rig than I do MY stuff.  

My next problem reared it's ugly head again ... insurance.  Of COURSE because I added the Jeep to the motorhome policy, my pickup truck is now fighting for survival all alone with Safeco insurance.  They almost doubled the rate.  I kid you not, with me only driving it about 1,000 miles a year, the price went from $700 to $1300.  It's a 2005 model.  

No problem thought I, I will just add it to my Arizona policy.  Honestly, they nail you at every corner.  THAT will raise my HOUSE insurance $400.  No kidding .... if I move the truck to Arizona, I will save $700, but my house insurance will go up $400.  WHY?   How can they do that legally?  They are penalizing me for not having a vehicle attached to my house.

I've really been dragging my feet about officially becoming an Arizona resident with the procurement of a drivers license, but I guess I have no choice.  Insurance companies just RIP YOU OFF!!!

To make me feel better, I'm going shopping downtown.  Many of our merchants need to feed their families, so those of us who can are heading out to spend some money.  Unfortunately, many have not received their stimulus check.  No I won't need bail money, because around here healthy people are DONE with staying home.  Unlike SOME cities who are arresting citizens for trying to keep food on the table, our Police Department has a heart.

By the way, in the interest of the truth, there was only one mask-related incident here.  The second accident was caused by the kid who moved his mask in order to talk on his phone, causing him to crash into another car and run off the road.  That's definitely a no-no!!
