I ...Regarding your microwave oatmeal and the mess. I do my oatmeal from scratch and place it in the microwave for cooking. I have the same problem with the oatmeal 'running over' onto the microwave plate. To remedy the problem I use a 'teflon' round sheet that I bought at the Indio FMCA rally from the woman that does the microwave/convection class. When the oatmeal 'runs over' it now runs onto the teflon sheet and the plate stays clean. Parchment paper is a thought to use. The teflon sheets are $10 each, but I use them over and over again for many microwave/convection dishes. Love them!!!
