JUST MY LUCK

Can someone explain why time change one way is so easy and the other way it's the Devil in disguise?  I've been awake every night until midnight or later, not able to sleep.  I finally dozed off around 3 am and woke up at 6.  UGH .... I NEED COFFEE.

Too bad Nancy ... the first day home, I stuck my cup of water in the microwave like I do every morning.  It came out cold.  How can that be?  It worked just fine the day I left.  There were no storms here, no power surges ... and everything else in the house works just fine.

Big sigh ..... now I'm relegated to boiling water on the stove for my morning wake up coffee.  I keep trying the microwave just in case it changes its mind, but it's being quite stubborn.  I have another one on order because so far I have poured boiling water over my thumb and forgotten to turn the stove off.

Breakfast was the same disaster.  Thank goodness the toaster works, but I had to actually use a FRYING PAN to heat up my steak and potatoes.  That microwave can't get here fast enough!!

Kitters agrees.  Yes, every time I turn around, there she is.  She meows quite a bit now, very unlike her.

It's probably a good thing we don't live on Maui.  I've never seen so many lizards in my life, including these weird green things that crawl the walls.  They seem to have suction cups for feet.  Maybe it's a gecko?

When I returned, I refilled the outside kitty food container and in one night it was half empty.  I set up the camera to find out who was partaking ... and who Kitters was staring at all the time ..... besides me.

Here's one of apparently FOUR I am now feeding.  I know ... I probably should not be doing that, but I just cannot stand to see a hungry critter.  Truly, I thought it was the fox, maybe the local coyote or even dogs.  Nope ... it was kitties.  This guy is extra suspicious of the camera.  He reminded me of the skunks that also still roam the area.

What a pretty tuxedo baby.  I think I need to bring out the BIG feeder from the back yard.

I had an appointment for a haircut in the afternoon, which took up the rest of the day.  Dinner was a bust. Truly, I didn't realize how much I use the microwave.  Washing all those dishes is NOT on my list of fun things.  Sadly, my new one won't be here until Wednesday.  Oh the horror!!!  WASHING DISHES!!!

Since my Breville oven still works like a charm, I drug out some of those 18 dozen cookies I bought.  No, I never asked ... or looked ... to see how many I was buying.  If you need any cookies for Halloween, look me up.

Here they are ..... and boy do they taste good.  I don't know why, but they just do.  Maybe it's because they are still warm from the oven.  Later today, I'll nuke a couple for a snack.  Oh wait ..........

It was now 9:00 and I was wide awake.  I even took a sleeping pill that didn't help one bit.  I have three days to get back on schedule.  Until then I feel like a deer in the headlights!!!!

Yes, still missing my happy boy.

  3. Those cookies look amazing! Have you tried unplugging microwave and then plugging it back in? I only ask because I do that with my toaster once in awhile when it thinks it doesn't want to work haha.

  4. Sleep look at what time you go to bed and how many hours of sleep you actually get for myself I don’t go to bed Until midnight and I bed hop, I have a bed in my Florida room and I have my bedroom. I start out in one and sometime during the night for a potty break. Then I switch rooms new bed, new Feeling .. if I wake up early andif I’m still tired at seven or 8 o’clock in the morning, I’ll go back into the other bed. As we get older, our metabolism changes, getting lack of sleep has a lot to do with what your mind is going through that wakes you up try some soft music on a timer the music should keep you from Over thinking If if the noise bothers you earplugs if the Cat keeps you awake rehome it ..Only drink your coffee and soda in the morning .. remember, Coffee, soda and iced tea has caffeine and is not your friend check your meds Side effects morning might be better versus night or the other way around…… you can see the suction cups on the gecko/salamanders feet. Cool

    1. Switching beds ... that sounds like an idea. Kitters doesn't wake me at all. It's the overthinking head thing! Music just might help!

  5. At least you don't need a installer to replace the micro!

  6. I think a working microwave is really essential when you are cooking and reheating for one, along with using paper plates. Take care.

    1. I left it unplugged overnight and tried again. It runs, but does not heat up anything.

  10. I agree with the 'unplugging' suggestions but I would leave it unplugged for a longer period - like over night -rje-

    1. I tried it. It is making a much louder gravely noise that it never made before. I will try again today just for kicks.
