ACCOUNTING .... BIG SIGH!!!!!

OOOHHHHHH it's a lovely 50 degrees this morning after pouring rain woke me up twice. Too bad my handyman has not gotten back to me about fixing my gutters and painting the window sills that now have no paint on them at all.  I guess there is always NEXT summer!!

This is going to be really short.  It apparently was not my day, and the black clouds overhead reflected that.  I got called in to the accounting job at noon, just as the rain began to fall.  I was hoping it would fall hard enough to wash off my solar panels.  Unfortunately I never saw one drop because I was sequestered in the back room behind the computer.

Talk about nothing working right .... it seems in spite of all my warnings, the other gal did not enter things in the right accounts.  There are about ten ... maybe more.  When it comes time to balance against the bank statements, absolutely nothing worked.  She had paid things out of the wrong accounts.  What a mess that was.

Literally six hours later, it was mostly repaired with the exception of one.  That is going to take the CPA to straighten out.  No kidding .... it's one big fat mess.  Three little mistakes make for a mountain of repairs.

That's it ..... that's all I did the entire day other than be on the phone for 90 minutes about the things happening at the lodge.  They may just be seeing the first light of the actual problems.  We shall see where this goes.  No worries ... I will NOT be working Bingo for long.

I would probably be sleeping much better if my sweet boy were still here to cuddle with.  He always made it all better!!!

  3. Cooper was such a good boy to sit still when you put the hat on him. My Coby would have jumped and ran around the house.
Yesterday afternoon sounds like a stressful time and hope today is better.

  4. Loving the photo of Cooper, so sweet. Sorry about your accounting woes. Here in the SoCal mountains we have had nearly three inches of rain since nine last night, with high winds and extreme fog. Staying in for the duration.

  5. I hope you stick to your guns, you sure don't need that grief, Nancy! Seems like everyone around here wants and needs rain too but it it doesn't look like Texas got any.

    1. Texas usually floods this time of year, so I hope it gets measured out to them. This is basically our first ... and it is lovely!!!

    1. Oh I have every intention of leaving Bingo at least. For the rest, I only have to attend one in three meetings.

  7. Marcia and her first husband owned a printing business in Chicago. The bank they used accidentally put money that was designated for the company's retirement account into the general fund. IRS saw it and came down on them as owners of the business DESPITE the bank admitting it was their fault. I think they (IRS) ended up fining them around $10K...they changed banks very quickly.

    1. WHAT? That is crazy!!! I think I would have found a lawyer over that one!! Funny how they go after the little guy, but the politicians get by scot free.

    2. Lawyer said it would cost more than $10k to fight it, and if you fight IRS, we all know what that might turn into. Fight the bank only just wasn't worth the risk of losing and being out $20k to $30k once done.

  8. It must be hard watching things go down hill at the
lodge when it does such good things for the community.
Are you thinking of leaving it?
Hopefully, eventually, a big turn around.

    1. It is very hard because we put in so much work over the last 17 years to make it great. Basically I have two jobs and am trying to decide if I want to keep one or ditch it all. There are about six other people trying to decide the same thing.
